Florence experience in One Day!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Our private tour with Laura was incredible! This was our first time to book a private tour. Laura tailored the 2-day tour based upon what we wanted to see. She established a schedule and coordinated times and sent us links to purchase the appropriate museum tickets. Her follow up is excellent. She responds quickly to the messages on Tours by Locals. Laura met us at our hotel on the first day. Her English is outstanding so we had no issues understanding her. Being from the area, she is very knowledgeable with the history of the area and the local artwork. She takes the time to get to know you a bit. By the end of our two days we felt more like friends and were sad to leave her.

Words cannot express the pleasure my wife and I had on this historical tour of Florence. Laura met us at our hotel, and was a non-stop tour de force of knowledge on buildings, architecture, art history, and local traditions. Our visit of the Uffizi was exquisite. Laura provided so much detail, so much knowledge! She chose to visit the Basilica de Santa Croce, which was the right decision, as it beautifully complimented our visit to the Uffizi. Ending with a tasty Gellato, the experience was PERFECT!

Excellent tour! We are not knowledgeable of or very interested in art, but Laura did a superb job of explaining and really bringing works to life by Pointing out key elements and how the craftsmanship changed in the art over time. She is an art expert, but didn't overwhelm us. It was a 6 hour tour which makes for a long day especially in the heat of summer, but she allowed for plenty of water, gelato and coffee breaks. She was also exceptionally accommodating by working with our complicated schedule.

Laura C. was our tour guide on May 16th in Florence. She was very well educated on both art and history. She had a wonderful personality and was very gracious to us. She took us to a wonderful place for lunch that we enjoyed very much. Unfortunately, as we had travelled from the US the day before, we had to end the tour at 5pm…just too tired to continue learning.
