If you want to have your personal tour guide in Florence because you are you tired of big groups and lightening visits, this is what you are looking for! I provide extremely high quality, yet fun and informal, fully guided tours of Florence, designed for small, independent and open-minded travelers. I will be happy to introduce you to the real Florentine culture. You will have a personal tour guide of Florence at your disposal to discover all the secrets of the city: history, curiosities, art and food. Through your private tour you will get to know all the main historical buildings and the museums, as well as the streets, the squares and the markets. All will be showed to you adding amusing and curious anecdotes about Florence history. I give different types of tours and my services are always taylor-made: it's not the same thing giving a tour to a family with children, a group of friends or a couple of honey-mooners! With the Classic tour of Florence, we will visit the top sites, such as the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio and Santa Croce Square. Moreover, I offer thematic tours, such as the Medici Grand Tour, a full immersion in the story of the most famous banking family of Florence. I am also specialized in the historical tours, like the medieval tour of Florence, focused on tower houses, religious orders and the real medieval house of Florence, Palazzo Davanzati. One of my favorite ones is a funny city tour with a special emphasis on food and wine: this is the Wine and Street Food Tour of Florence, to figure out what to order for breakfast at an Italian bar or where to find the best gelato spots in town. I love to give tours to the youngest ones, so if you have children in your party it will be exciting to discover the city with them. During my career as tour guide I got a specialization on tours for the visually impaired. Touring Florence is possible! You just need the right person to help you. I use high-releaf models, tactile reproductions and above all my comunication skills. Human relations always make the difference! If you wish to have further information on a particular subject or aspect you just have to ask: we will organize together a different tour, completely customized for you. Hello there! I'll introduce myself, my name is Francesca, I was born 33 years ago in this beautiful city, Florence, and I have been a qualified tourist guide of Florence since 2008 (time flies..!). After getting a degree in Modern Cultures and Languages at the University of Florence and completing my studies in Spain at the Universidad de Valladolid, studying English-Spanish code switching, I had several experiences in the field of diplomatic institutions, international trade and, eventually, I approached the tourism business, working on cruise ships at hotel department. Once I decided that the time of restless travelling was over, I thought that becoming a tour guide of Florence was the best opportunity to share my passion for my home town. Guiding is my full time job, my certification was issued in 2008 by the Italian Government. In the mean time, I came back to College to get a History Degree and I'm learning Hebrew language. I am self-employed tourist guide, not a tour operator. I am not a driver and in Italy you need a special licence to transport people in your own vehicle.

You have been planning this trip for a long time. Your time in Florence is limited so you want to maximize it as much as you can, but you still want to enjoy your day with no rush, being guided by an expert. I'm that expert! I have a true passion for history, in particular I love the Medici intrigues, I'm fascinated by Jewish culture (Florence had a flourishing Jewish community in the Renaissance), I'm a fan of Leonardo (and yes, I prefer him to grumpy Michelangelo). I'm proudly Florentine and to me Michelangelo's David is a unique symbol of freedom. I can't wait to show you "my" Florence, revealing the symbols of Uffizi paintings, explaining to you the meaning of Michelangelo's David, taking you around to see the not-to-be-missed sites of the city, but also my favorite hidden corners.

We had a great tour with Francesca. She was fun, easy to understand, and was able to navigate a very crowded Florence on a Tuesday, which we learned is typically very busy because many places are closed on Mondays. We especially enjoyed the in-depth explanations she gave us of some of the most important art pieces in Florence. We went to a food market where we sampled some of the local food and learned how it is made and eaten. We wanted to make the most of our day, so Francesca was able to arrange a quick lunch at a delicious local restaurant. Overall, the tour was highly organized, but we never felt rushed. We wanted to see as much of Florence as possible during our short time there, and Francesca made it happen!
My 22 year old son, my 10 year old daughter and myself recently did a half day tour with Francesca P. and without a doubt the experience was worth every penny. Francesca was very kind and welcoming and an excellent communicator. She was very knowledgeable and capable of sharing her knowledge in a way that held the interest of each of us (even though our ages and interests were very different). With Francesca’s guidance we were able to see, experience and learn so much more than we could have on our own. We never felt rushed or that we missed anything. We were truly able to relax and take it all in. Our time with Francesca will be remembered warmly and was definitely a highlight of our trip to Italy.
We learned so much from Francesca and enjoyed every minute of our day with her in Florence. Francesca kept all four of our kids (Ages 10-19) engaged and because she made the experience so interesting, each of them list Florence as one of their very favorite stops on our two-week tour of Italy. She provided a wonderful balance of history, food, culture and architecture. We definitely left the city enamored by it's beauty, people and art and wished we had more time with her!
Francesca was an excellent guide. We enjoyed spending 6 hours with her. She was extremely knowledgeable and had an excellent command of the English language. Her enthusiasm for the City of Florence was immediately apparent. She showed us many beautiful sights in a short period of time. She is one of the best guides we have had in Italy.
Francesa was an excellent guide. She is very knowledgeable in personable. Her professionalism showed in every aspect of the tour. I would definitely recommend her for anyone going to Florence.
-We'll see the Duomo square, with its Cathedral (Duomo, outside view only), the Baptistry and the bell tower. -Now it's time to go to Signoria square and admire the city hall, Palazzo Vecchio (outside view). -Are you ready to rub the piglet's nose? Let's walk through the leather stands of this famous market (Piglet's market). -Let's take a selfie on Ponte Vecchio! This is one of the most iconic bridges of the world, known for its hanging houses. -We'll walk to Republic square, where a bronze 3D model of the city will be very helpful to get your bearings! -We'll admire the spectacular paintings of Uffizi Gallery. Botticelli, Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Raphael, they are all here! -Next stop will be Accademia Gallery. Michelangelo's David will leve speechless, believe me! It's a walking tour, we move on foot between a place and another. Florence is not big, so everything is within walking distance. We can stop for refreshing whenever you like, this is the nice thing of taking a private tour, no rush! Also, be aware of the heat in summer time.
