The Highlights of Pest & Buda

This tour shows you the iconic sights of the Pest inner city - such as the Parliament, the St. Stephen's Basilica and the Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial. In the second half it takes you to the Buda castle side, where you get the chance to explore its history and architecture of almost 800 years. In a fun way of course - full of stories and legends! This tour covers 1100 years of the history of the Hungarians, almost 800 years of the Buda castle’s history, shares bunch of fun data, exciting, intriguing legends and stories , while also gives you an overview on Hungarian architecture, gastronomy and culture. On the tour you will find out: Why was the Parliament the most modern building of the country back in the day? What is the unique medieval architectural phenomenon that can only be found in the territory of the historic Hungary? What was going on in the tunnels of the Buda castle during WW2?

We start the tour on the Elisabeth square. - Elisabeth square - St. Stephens Basilica - Liberty square - Shoes at the bank of the Danube - the building of the Hungarian Parliament - Royal Palace - Matthias Church - Fishermen's Bastion - several magical streets of the Buda castle There is a break in the middle of the tour where we sit down for a nice coffee and cake (included in the price). We will cross from Pest to Buda by taxi. We finish the tour at the Matthias church. (Please note that we will check out the churches only from the outside)
