Dear Traveller, Welcome to my site and thanks for stopping by! My name is Melinda and I am a licensed tour guide for Hungary. I'm very lucky as my job is also my passion. . . I have been guiding for years, I have worked with reputable companies such as Viking, Tauck, Scenic, AValon, AMA Waterways, etc. However, my favourite tours are the ones with smaller groups and guiding individual travellers- there is more personal touch, plenty of time for chatting, so the trip can be a more memorable and unique experience. I am a keen traveller myself, too, I had the wonderful opportunity to live in Turkey and Italy for a while, great experience which I will never forget. I am definitely not an office person. I enjoy being out and about the whole day, feeling the athmosphere of the city, walking in the picturesque cobbled streets of downtown Budapest and the countryside, sharing my stories with others. I am a flea-market goer, keen on antiques and I also paint. I have a WSET qualification in Hungarian wines so I will happily discuss any wine related topics on my tours. To me every corner tells a story about the past and every street leads somewhere worth exploring. I would love to show you the true face of Budapest and this country and also give you an insight into the daily life here. What can you expect on my tours? I like to have fun and like it when those around me are also having a great time. I am very sociable and during my tours we will sometimes meet and chat with locals. We can also discuss authentic and contemporary issues, matters of daily life and anything else that you would like to know. **** Media appearances: I took part in filming for the BBC 'The One Show' - we filmed an insert for the show in Budapest, I was the guide of the film crew and also appeared on screen Cooperation on the American Airlines On Flight Magazine - Budapest edition I was also the lucky guide of Matt Long, publisher of Landlopers, you can read his article here: https://landlopers.com/2015/01/11/touring-with-local **** ALL MY TOURS ARE FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE! I am very flexible about our itinerary so it is not a problem if you want to change the schedule. I am well aware that your time here is precious and I would like to make sure that your tour is full, interesting, engaging, fun, and informative. We can travel via public transport, walk or I can arrange a first class van or minibus. Just contact me and I can customize the tour to meet your needs. So my tour ideas are rather recommendations, feel free to ask for any specials. I very much look forward to hearing from you and making sure your time in Hungary is special and memorable. Discover the charms of Szentendre: A Hungarian village where history and art converge I recommend this tour to art lovers, shoppers or anyone, who likes quaint places and want to further explore Hungary outside Budapest. Szentendre's unique character was shaped by various cultures, including Serbs, who settled here in the 18th century, leaving behind their mark in the form of charming architecture and traditions. We will find here baroque architecture with cobblestone streets, vibrant galleries, Hungarian folklore stores and many more. From its quaint architecture to the lively Danube promenade, Szentendre is a picturesque escape which can be a great addition to your capital visit.
- We will discover the narrow cobbled streets and the promenade by the Danube comfortably walking. Then we visit some of the old churches and walk up to a point where you can see most of the church towers. We have 10 of them here! There are some interesting museums to visit: - Kovacs Margit Museum for ceramic arts, - Marzipan Museum, - Orthodox Serbian Church Museum - Ferenczy Art Museum - Skanzen Open Air Museum, a historic village with many original buildings and objects representing Hungarian architecture and culture from the end of the 18th century to the middle of the 20th century. We can also taste langos and palacsinta, go shopping or just linger over a coffee at the main square. An option in the summer is to go back to Budapest by boat. The tour can easily be extended by adding one or two more hours if you wish. Don't hesitate to contact me for customized options!
