Overview of your Budapest tour:

The history of Jewish people in Buda goes back to the medieval times, but in Pest it only starts at the end of the 18th century. They had Europe's largest synagogue built but why were two more synagogues built really close to this one? I'll tell you about the economic upturn of Pest, the Golden Age of Budapest, the devastation and revitalization of the Jewish quarter. Get to know the heroes who had the courage to stay human in inhuman times and visit the beautiful memorials of those who couldn't be saved. I'll tell you about the German and also the Soviet occupation so you can get the full picture of these dark times. We'll visit the famous Gozsdu Courtyard where you can have lunch and there is also an art & crafts market open every weekend where you can pick up some souvenirs. I'll show you the last remaining ghetto wall now also a memorial place. I'll tell you the story of the very popular Ruin pubs and also talk about the architectural changes this wonderful district is facing at present.
