My name is Agi. I'm a licenced tour guide with 15 years of experience in tourism. There is an old story how I became a tour guide. I was about 3 years old when I said to a group of children on the playground: "If you want to listen to me, please follow me. " And they did. Since then a lot has happened but I still say the same. I like tour guiding so much that I do not consider it as a job. It is important for me that my guests do not only have a good time, but also learn something new, understand the whys, remember tastes, and feelings. A believe that three days after the trip you will not remember which monument was built by whom and when but you will remember the feeling you felt when you saw a particular monument. I like to be part of that feeling, because that you will remember for a long time. I also know that in todays world once you have the time, money, interest, etc. to go on a holiday it has to be memorable. I'm working on your holiday. I"m a professional licenced guide in Hungary since 2004 I have a BA in economy majoring in tourism and a BA in Jewish Liturgy Dohany street Great Synagogue - certified and licenced guide Grand Circle Program Director Training Program Cosmos Tour Director training program I do not have any restrictions in regard to my guiding, except in the Parlament and in the State Opera House since only their local guides are allowed to guide.

On this tour we explore the Jewish quarter, the former ghetto, today's flourishing neighborhood. The Jewish quarter has much more to offer than the Dohany street shul, though for sure that is one of the most important part of it. Beside many many other things we talk about Jewish history, Jewish food, Hungarian Jewish specialties and also about what does Mickey mouse have to do with one of the synagogues. I"m sure you have always wondered that. If you are interested, I share my family story too.

Agnes was an outstanding tour guide. She was quite friendly and well informed. She focused on important historical issues and responded very well to our questions. She was quite personable and honest about facts and uncertainties. On top of that, she gave us exceptionally valuable hints about how to make good use of our remaining time in Budapest. Her suggestions about restaurants and further walks turned out to be right on the mark!
Agnes was terrific. She was extremely knowledgeable about the Jewish quarter, history of Jews in Hungary and Hungarian history in general. She answered our many questions and made the tour so interesting. She is warm and friendly and did a wonderful job -- even when we were walking in the pouring rain. Communication before the tour was really good as well. We highly recommend her.
this was our second day with agi with our family of 8 in budapest. she is a wonderful guide!
Our tour with Agi was extremely informative and interesting. She is smart, engaging and a lovely person. We learned a lot during our time with Agi and feel fortunate we chose her as our guide in Budapest.
Thank you Agi for introducing us to the Jewish Quarter. How magical it was to be the first ones in the Dohany Synagogue ahead of the imminent crowds. Your knowledge of the history and present day life in and around the Jewish Quarter created a memorable day for us
We go in chrnological order and visit these sites: We start the tour in the Dohány synagogue, I tell you about Jewish history, the history of the building and we see the whole complex with the Jewish Museum and the Wallenberg Memorial too. From here we continue to the Rumbach synagogue and on the way stop to see some interesting graffities - not exactly the type one thinks about as hears the word graffiti. Also I tell you different personal stories on the way. After visiting the Rumbach we continue walking in the area and stop for a quick but exciting story at the Lutz Memorial and a quick look at the Gozsdu courtyard on the way to the Kazinczy former orthodox shul. After that we pass by a few kosher restaurants and finish the tour at the Szimpla Ruin bar.
