Dear guests let me show you a unique and special part of the Elisabeth Town, the so called Jewish Quarter in about 3 and a half hours. This tour is about all those things and sights and information that you maybe always wanted to know about it. I will share The history of the Jewish people in Hungary, their religion in the past and in the present through the buildings and synagogues which are located in a quiet small area in the downtown of Budapest. I am going to lead you around in the social centre of Budapest to show you the most important places and buildings which are connected to the present Jewish community and are forming the face of the Jewish District. The past left its marks in the Jewish Quarter and I would like to share my information about it. Seasoned with humour, personal stories and a traditional Jewish cake at the end. The focus will be on the tradition, everyday life and the persecution of the World War II.
This is a suggested itinerary - let me know if you have more preferences, I will customize - We will explore the Jewish District in about 3 hours, that area which used to be the Gettho during the World War II. - I would like to present you the relationship between the jewish people and the hungarian society in the whole Hungarian history, specially the story of the Jewish District. - Therefore we will start this tour at the Elisabeth square or I'll will pick you up at your hotel (or a mutual agreed upon location) and we will take a look at our area from outside first, after we walk in and I'm going to explain everything what we can see around. - Will visit inside two Synagogues as well, the Kazinczy Street Orthodox Synagogue and the Dohány Street Grand Synagogue and I'm going to tell and show you the difference between the different wings of the Jewish religion in Hungary. - At the end of the tour we are going to visit a Jewish bakery, where you can try a traditional Jewish cake, the Flódni.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
