Hello, my fellow traveler! My name is Andris I've been a licensed, local tour guide since 2017 in Hungary and in the largest European Synagogue. I worked in Budapest's tourism for the last 15 years, because I realized very early on that I truly love this city and since I am an eager traveler as well, I wanted to make sure that the visitors have an unforgettable time in my favorite town. I speak English, German, and Dutch fluently and I can teach you one of the most difficult languages in the world, Hungarian. I'm a big history enthusiast, but instead of the names and numbers I am curious about how the real people lived here in the last 2000 years and that is what I talk about on my tours. My biggest passions are eating and drinking without a question so you can't leave my tours without trying some local snack or wine. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT ON MY TOURS: I like to keep things light and fun and so prepare yourself for some ironic humor and plenty of dad jokes. It is what it is. . . I just can't help myself :) While we discover Budapest together we won't only talk about architecture and history, we can also discuss the issues of present everyday life of the locals and anything else that you would like to know. There are no bad questions! I think the best way to discover Budapest is by walking, so my tours are by default walking tours with some public transportation. That is how you can feel the general atmosphere of the neighborhoods and that is the easiest way to run into some hidden gems, like flea markets and design shops, but if you have just a short time here, or you just want to discover the important attractions in the most comfortable and efficient way, I totally understand that. In that case, I can always arrange private transportation for you, just let me know. I also love a good challenge, so if you have a special interest or you want to see some special sights besides the most famous ones, feel free to contact me and I'll create a fully customized experience just for your needs. WHY BUDAPEST: The biggest advantage of this city in my opinion is its eclecticism. You can see ancient Roman ruins from 2000 years ago, walk amongst beautiful classicist and art nouveau buildings on cobblestone streets from the 19th century, and you might run into a typical brutalist "neo-ugly" communist building on the next corner. The other charming attribute of Budapest is that it has been a student city since the 17th century so it has a vibrant culture and nightlife, and if nothing interests you above all these, you can still spend a very fun couple of days here just eating the best Hungarian dishes and drinking some excellent local wines with some impossible names :) I would love to create a special experience for you in Budapest. Join me and let's discover my favorite town together! Szentendre is Budapest’s most charming half-day escape: a riverside town of colorful houses, cobblestone lanes, artists’ studios, and little courtyards that feel like a storybook. With a private driver, you skip the transport stress and enjoy a relaxed, flexible pace—perfect if you want authentic Hungary without giving up a whole day. We’ll stroll the historic center, learn how Szentendre became an artists’ hub, and explore its multicultural heritage (Hungarian, Serbian, and more) through architecture, street life, and food traditions. Along the way, I’ll point out the best artisan shops—ceramics, paprika, jams, and handmade chocolates—plus what to buy that actually travels well. The highlight is our sweet stop at a cozy local café for coffee and a classic Hungarian cake, the perfect way to slow down and taste the town.
- Pick-up in Budapest (your hotel or preferred location) Scenic drive north along the Danube while we set the scene. - Szentendre Old Town walk (culture + tastes) Main Square & baroque streets: the town’s story and daily life Artists’ lanes and galleries: what makes Szentendre’s style unique Multicultural heritage: Serbian influences and architectural details Practical tasting tips: what to try, what to bring home - Café & cake stop (included) We pause in a beloved local café for coffee/tea and a slice of Hungarian cake. I’ll recommend the best seasonal choice and share the story behind Hungary’s café tradition. - Danube riverside views + photo stop - Drive back to Budapest + drop-off
