Dear Visitors, I am very pleased to have your kind interest in my tours and services. My name is George. I am an experienced, licensed Private Tour Guide in Budapest, Hungary, providing customized tours in the capital and the countryside to individuals, small groups and families. As I have always lived in Budapest I can introduce it to you through the eye of a native Hungarian. My guiding experience includes working for top hotels and caring for private clients of Viking River Cruises, Amawaterways and Tauck River Cruises. For most of my adult life I have been a wondering, wandering academic full of wanderlust. I'm passionate about travel, very fond of meeting fellow travellers, photography, driving to new places, learning on the way and returning to old favourites with new eyes. I have spent 7 years in the US and Germany working for cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean and Holland America. Having returned I realized that guiding was my vocation and in 2006 I got qualified as a licensed tourist guide which I have been doing ever since. Throughout the years my aim has been to exceed my guests' expectations by giving them a personal approach with a good sense of humor and to introduce my city and Hungary in an enthusiastic, amusing and informative manner. As a professional tour guide, I provide tailor made private driving and walking tours, half day and full day programs. All my tour itineraries will be designed to suit your needs and interests within your time frame making sure you receive a luxurious experience in a friendly, caring atmosphere and leave the country with nothing but lasting memories. Lake Balaton is an amazing freshwater lake in the Transdanubian region of Hungary, the largest in Central Europe, and one of the region's foremost tourist destinations with beautiful rolling hills and scenic wine regions around it. Rich with history and majestic Magyar culture, Balatonfüred was Hungary's first spa resort and a summer residence for many notable politicians and writers, who built grand villas still standing today. Natural beauty abounds all around the Tihany peninsula formed from an ancient volcanic crater, with central wetlands providing an ideal habitat for ducks and herons. This is where many Hungarians spend their holidays. We can also visit the well-reputed Herend Porcelain Factory and a visit to the 1000-year-old Tihany Benedictine Abbey.

George Molnár was a great guide to have for a full day tour. We went to the Herend factory first, and although George has done this tour many times before, he appeared to thoroughly enjoy himself. We then went to Lake Balaton, had lunch at a hilltop restaurant with a killer view, visited a thousand-year-old monastery, and finally stopped at a wonderful vineyard so I (not George) could have a glass of wine. It was like spending the day with an old friend. And he really is a superb guide.

George was an AMAZING tour guide. He patiently showed us around, he knew so much about so many different cultures, and it showed. He was funny, human, patient, and so very, knowledgeable. His love for Hungary was evident, people skills were amazing, and he was a fun and informative tour guide. George found places off the beaten path, showed us amazing views, beautiful places, and great local restaurants. Extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. Brought us (with our limited time) on a wonderful venture of Lake Balaton's past, present and future. We expected a great tour guide and what we received surpassed our expectations. It was as though we were shown Lake Balaton by an eager, caring, friend. He was punctual, returned all emails quickly, and made us feel very comfortable.

Your Budapest tour itinerary

- Herend:visit the largest hand-painted Porcelain Manufactory of the world and become acquainted with its history and speciality in the performance of a local guide. - free time for shopping and invite you for a coffee at the Porcelánium coffee house, where you can drink coffee out of real porcelain cups. - Tihany-Peninsula, where we visit the 1000-year-old Benedictine Abbey with the tomb of the Hungarian king Andrew I. which is the only one royal burial place remaining in its original position. Behind the Abbey you can see a unique panorama of Balaton. We take a short walk in the centre along pleasant cafés, restaurants. Then we travel back to Budapest, but on the way we come to a stop in Balatonfüred, in the first spa town and tourist resort of Hungary. Highlights of the tour: - Beautiful landscape, - Porcelain Manufactory, - Tihany Peninsula, - Benedictine Abbey, - Balatonfüred The itinerary is a plan, let me know what you would like to see and do and I will customize the tour accordingly.
