Hi! Welcome to my site! I am a professional, registered tour guide with a passion for my country especially Budapest and the Danube Bend. I was born and raised in Budapest, our capital city, and I'd love to show you the city I know - not just the famous sights, but the hidden corners, fascinating stories, local traditions, and little details that most visitors simply pass by. I am extremely lucky and proud to have gained first-hand knowledge from historians and archaeologists through my many years of studies. And I'm here to share it all with you but beware: my passion can be contagious. :) My private tours are for curious travellers who want to experience more than the average tourist. Along the way I'll share stories giving you a glimpse into the city beyond what you'll find in a guidebook. And if you have more time I'd suggest visiting our beautiful countryside: Szentendre is less than an hour away from Budapest & it's one of Hungary's most frequently visited town's by the River Danube. Everybody loves this little town, its colourful houses, cobblestone streets and hidden alleys, not to mention the fine restaurants, handmade crafts and art and its many churches. There are so many stories and so much to see that I can't wait to show it all to you! :) Check out my tours and don't forget that all of them can be altered to suit your needs and interests. Are you a first-time visitor? Then this tour is definitely for you. Take this in-depth historical tour to get to know the major sights of both Buda and Pest. Have a pleasant walk in the Buda Castle District, enjoy the fabolous view of Pest, the Parliament, Margaret Island, all our bridges and even the Citadel. Discover the history and magnificent architecture of Matthias Church, the Fishermen's Bastion and of course the Royal Palace of Buda. Enjoy the rich interiors of St. Stephen's Basilica and the Opera house before hopping on the cutest and oldest underground in continental Europe. Visit Vadahunyad Castle which is said to be modelled from a castle of the same name in Transylvania, Romania. I'll tell you about the Hungarian bathing culture as we visit the famous Szechenyi Spa and of course Heroes' Square is a must. I'll show you old photos - before and after WW2 - of the city to make your trip to our past more memorable. We can stop for coffee and cakes or lunch if you prefer.
Rita was an absolutely wonderful guide…extremely knowledgeable, great at time management in getting us to dispersed sites in both Buda and Pest, fascinating photos of pre WWII and post WWII, accommodating in what sites we wanted to explore, cognizant of the comfort of her guests, met us at the hotel lobby and put us on the underground/tube back to our hotel…all in addition to her very cordial and friendly demeanor. HIGHLY recommended by 7 of us!

Rita is an exceptional guide in all respects...highly knowledgeable in the history and art history of Hungary and Budapest, and so personable. We did a full day tour of Buda + Pest, and learned so much about the history of Hungary, from the Roman era to modern time, which Rita presented it in a way that was so easy to understand. We have used TBL on a number of occasions and Rita is without a doubt one of the very best guides we have encountered; it was truly an extraordinary and memorable experience!
