Dear Traveller, My name is Kristóf. I am a licensed Hungarian tour guide whose aim is to give you an unforgettable experience in my beautiful country, Hungary. I graduated from university as an expert in plant protection but after working for some years in my profession I realized that the job in which I am really interested in and which I would like to do the most is guiding tourists. That is why I accomplished a state-recognized tour guide training in 2021 and since then I have guided tourists in my capital with great enthusiasm. I have always been interested in history, art, culture and geography, and in discovering new places thus this job is like a 'dream job' for me. I am very interested in the past of my capital, that is why I read a lot about the history of Budapest and about the secrets its buildings hide always learning something new about this beautiful city. I deliver walking tours: we just walk or we walk and use public transport. But what can I offer you coming here to Budapest? First of all, I will provide you deep insight into the history and culture of Hungary, telling you interesting facts about Hungarian traditions, interesting stories about famous Hungarian historical figures, about the amazing monuments which appear all over the capital, and about the everyday life of the residents living here in Budapest. I will talk about great Hungarian kings and saints and legends related to them, and about leading citizens of the former Hungarian capital to whom we can mainly thank today's cityscape of Budapest. Whether you are interested in a short discovery of Budapest or a whole day exploration of the Hungarian capital, I happily guide you through this marvellous city taking into account all your requests and paying special attention to your comfort. I arrange your tour fully adjusted to your needs in terms of route, the attractions you wish to see, the timing of the tour and anything else which is important for you. Being a passionate lover of Hungarian traditions and culture and previously a member of a folk dance ensemble for a couple of years, I know a huge number of Hungarian folk songs and I also like to sing. That is why on my tours I will sing you some of the greatest Hungarian folk songs, so that you can get a ’taste’ of the Hungarian soul through its beautiful folk songs. I can't wait to meet you here in Budapest! Licensed tour guide in English - Government Office of the Capital City Budapest License for the Esztergom Basilica and Treasury Expert in Plant Protection (MSc) Agricultural Engineer in Environmental Management (BSc) I do not have any restrictions with regards to my guiding, except guiding inside the following monuments: Hungarian Parliament, Hungarian State Opera and Dohány Street Great Synagogue. In the case of the former two buildings they have their own guides and they organize their own tours and for guiding inside the Dohány Street Great Synagogue I would need a license which I have not obtained yet.

With this 4-hour-long walking tour in the city centre of Budapest I will let you ’taste’ the atmosphere of the former Pest through walking by stunning buildings originating from the 19th century. I will tell you how the Hungarian capital became from a small trade town with horse-driven carriages running through its unpaved, dusty streets to a new, splendid metropolis of Europe with the first downtown tram network constructed in Europe, with the first metro line built in the continent, with the evolvement of an unequalled coffee culture accompanied by an enormous economical, social and cultural boom of the city. Amazing facades, Budapest’s greatest church, the venue for one of Europe's biggest Christmas markets, the world’s second largest synagogue, a UNESCO World Heritage Site promenade with panoramic views on the Buda side of the city and a lovely garden await you in this tour. At the end of the tour I will sing you some of the most beautiful Hungarian folk songs to let you get a taste of Hungarian culture!
