Bonjour! Welcome to Bordeaux ! My name is Julie, and I was born and raised in the countryside of Bordeaux, surrounded by vineyards. I moved to Paris right after graduation to work as a licensed tour guide for some of the most emblematic French monuments and sites (the Loire Valley castles, Louvre Museum, Normandy, and more!). It was an enriching experience ! When I came back to Bordeaux, I decided to specialize in wine (how could I not), and I'm now a full-time guide, who provides private wine and History tours with my minivan in the Bordeaux region, but also other areas such as the Dordogne, french Basque Country or the Arcachon Bay. I've always worked in tourism and I am a curious person, so I keep learning every day. Thanks to my experiences in various French regions, I will be able to adapt to your interests and customize THE tour you need. I am a very attentive person and I really want you to enjoy your time here. So do not hesitate to ask me for advice! I'm really looking forward to welcoming you to my region so I can learn more about you. My objective is not to give you a lecture, but rather to have a discussion to make it more enjoyable for you (and for me!). A bientôt! Strawberry, cheese, black truffle, wine… In France, we love our food and wine, and Dordogne is not an exception! Known as an agricultural and farming region, every culture is enhanced. Walnuts and chestnuts are all over the place, in cakes or distilled as a local alcoholic beverage. But the award goes to geese foie gras and duck confit with Sarladaises potatoes: be ready to see that on every menu! If you come on Wednesday or Saturday, you’ll be lucky to experience the famous and busy market of Sarlat, rich in local food and products. If you have to come on a different day, the town offers plenty of places where you’ll discover some of our generous gastronomic and emblematic products. In the afternoon, we’ll head to one of the picturesque villages in the Dordogne river valley, so you’ll be impressed by troglodyte houses or a medieval castle on top of a hill.
8:00 Departure from Bordeaux in a private minivan 10:30 Walking tour with food and wine tasting in Sarlat Lunch Discovery of the area and stop in one village on the afternoon (La Roque-Gageac or Beynac-et-Cazenac) 3:30 Return to Bordeaux 6:00 End of the tour Wear comfortable walking shoes Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated Camera is recommended for capturing moments Sunscreen is advised for sunny days
