François-Rémy, at your service: PhD, art historian, and no ordinary guide. I would be honoured to give you a tour you will never forget! Discover Bordeaux’s Essentials with a focus on monuments and historical anecdotes. If you fear my speech is a specialized mumbo jumbo, be reassured, because I made it delightful, pragmatic and well-balanced between entertainment and erudition. What to expect? Strolling from one monument to another and commenting on them with merry and expert reports. I love to illustrate my comments with many high-quality printed images, revealing details of monuments and enriching the experience. Thanks to my photographs and deep archivist research, I have many engaging documents you will appreciate at my disposal. I devoted my life to art and history because of people’s indifference towards heritage and museums. However, learning how to look and understand the world can delight life. Searching relentlessly in historical sources made me the witness of a vivid but forgotten world that I love to resurrect. My guiding experience started in 2014 when I was a volunteer guide in the churches of Bordeaux. After being a guide for several museums, I passed an art history master’s degree and a PhD in heraldic stained glass windows in the churches of Bordeaux and Gironde. I also teach art history in a private school and give regular lectures for academic societies and cultural events. Bordelais since 1991. Graduated in 2024 from the prestigious École Pratiques des Hautes Études (Paris). Specialties: local history, heraldry, symbols and emblems, iconography, ornamentation, and architecture. Hobbies and interests: worshipper of the Muses (music, poetry, fine art, reading everything I can), museum junkie, guide in other worlds by being game master for role play, basketball, and table tennis (you know what they say… mens sana in corpore sano).
