Helsinki Highlights and Suomenlinna Fortress_private guide

During this tour we will see the best of our beautiful city. We discover Senate Square, Cathedral, Sibelius Monument, Rock Church, Art Nouveau districts by the seafront and many more. Lunch or coffee break (extra charge) around noon and time for shopping at the market and boutiques on the Esplanade avenue. Suomenlinna is a sea fortress situated just 20min with waterbus from the Market place. It is an open-air museum but also a city district with 800 inhabitants. I am authorized to guide in this site. The history begins in 1748 when Finland was part of Sweden and needed a military fortress against the Russian threat. We take the waterbus to the museum area and during the walking tour you will hear the history and stories about this interesting site including the fortress walls, bastions, dry dock, sandbanks. Our tour includes exciting tunnels, the King's Gate and visit to the Ehrensvard Museum. We return to the centre and end the tour at your convenience. Please note: tour might be done in reverse order.

We will do a panoramic tour (about 3. 5 hours) of the city with several photo stops with magnificent views and visit the interiors of the Cathedral and the Rock Church. A break to grab something to eat and have some time to see the market and the shops around it (about 1 hour). Our visit to Suomenlinna will take about 2. 5 hours, the water bus will take us to the museum area and we will do a walking tour and visit the Ehrensvard Museum on the island. Then return to the city and back to your drop off point.
