Overview of your Helsinki tour
Let's escape into the wild natural settings of Nuuksio National Park and enjoy typically Finnish scenery of green forests, pure lakes and rugged crags. The word Nuuksio resembles the word swan (njukca) in the Sámi language: Nuuksio area have been claimed to prove former Sámi settlement when they arrived to Finland around 1600 or 1500 BCE. After a light walking along the forest paths, we will visit at the Haltia Nature Center for the Finnish Nature exhibition with the Northern Lights including the Finnish flora and fauna. Here you will explore the magic seasons and get a taste of nature's power of creation with a touch of mythology from the Kalevala. You may purchase unique Finnish handicrafts and souvenirs as well! Finally we will enter to the southernmost reindeer farm, where you can feed the reindeer and relax around the fire place while having a warm drink and cinnamon bun in the Sámi-type of tipi. Chance to add your special Lappish dinner in "kota" and sauna experience as well!

* 35 min drive to Nuuksio * Let's escape into wild nature and enjoy a typically Finnish scenery, with lovely lakes, green forests and rugged crags. I will tell you about the local nature history. * Note: If interested for a deeper insight to the nature for longer hiking and adventure experience, ask for personalized tour including the food experience by the campfire. *The Haltia Finnish Nature Center exhibition. Time for souvenirs and short snack! *The Reindeer Farm Visit: includes lichen to feed the reindeer, soot pot coffee (tea, juice) and frying a stick bun by the campfire in the tipi. In December, serving warm non-alcoholic mulled wine and gingerbread until January 6th. The reindeer keeper tells about the life of their reindeer. *35 min drive back NOTE: The reindeer farm is not open daily, might need a private booking. Please send me a message before booking this excursion. Santa Claus is available mostly during the Christmas time, but available for the special bookings.
