Do not miss this tour! Combine Helsinki with Porvoo -a pittoresque town from the Medieval era. Porvoo is famous for its red wooden old barracks by the riverside and of its many art galleries and handicraft shops. Many Finnish artists have lived in Porvoo. Walking in the Old Town, by the river and visiting the Cathedral will enchant you. Returning to Helsinki we will have a full city tour: * Senate Square with the Gran Cathedral and the beautiful neoclassical part of the town. * Art Nouveau district of Katajanokka, Orthodox Cathedral of Uspenski. * Market Square, an open market by the Baltic Sea. * Esplanadi Avenues and Park with chic designer stores. * Central Railway Station, designed by Eliel Saarinen and chosen on the list of 10 most beautiful railway stations in the world. * Parliament Palace, National Museum, New Music Center. * Finlandia Hall, designed by Alvar Aalto. * Sibelius Monument, Sibelius Park. * Stunning and unique Rock Church. Imagine our surprise when we were picked up in a beautiful chauffeur driven Mercedes! From there it only got better…stopping at a few of the amazing sites in Helsinki before driving to the gorgeous town of Porvoo…old churches, great cafes and other places to see. After leaving Porvoo, we returned to Helsinki to take in other sites including government buildings, open air markets, the amazing library and Sarianna was a vast pool of knowledge about everything. We never felt rushed, and she was very accommodating with us. Highly, highly recommend if you’re looking for a private, personal tour in Helsinki.

Sarianna covered a lot of history and culture of Finland and related it well to the walking tours of Porvoo and Helsinki. The tour was well-organized and provided the right combination of walking and driving. She even gave recommendations (and pamphlets) for additional sites and walking tours to do on our own, as well as restaurant recommendations near our hotel.

We were on a cruise and the itinerity was changed so we emailed Sarianna and she was able to change the date of the tour right away. She was very helpful. Your Helsinki tour itinerary

This 6-hour excursion combines Helsinki, our beautiful capital and Porvoo, a lovely wooden town dating from Medieval period. We will discover the best of both cities! Porvoo is about 45 minutes drive from Helsinki and on the way you will learn about history, culture and nowadays Finland. Finland has a history full of rich heritage from Swedish and Russian periods. Porvoo dates from the Swedish era and is the second oldest town in Finland. You will be delighted to walk in the Old town of Porvoo, by the river banks and visit the Medieval Cathedral (subject to opening hours). When returning to Helsinki we will see all the major landmarks of the city and visit the sites mentioned in the description such as: Senate Square with the Gran Cathedral, the Sibelius monument, the famous Rock Church (subject to opening hours), open market, Art Nouveau district by the seashore and many more.
