Hello! My name is Timo. I am a Nature and Wilderness guide and an authorized Helsinki guide. I live in the Helsinki metropolitan area, and I would love to be your personal guide to Helsinki, including Unesco World Heritage site Suomenlinna sea fortress. I can take you to Nuuksio for a wilderness tour, or to Porvoo. Helsinki has a lot to see, like our monumental center from the autonomy period and Suomenlinna, which is a real must to visit! In Helsinki there are many wonderful sites to visit: The Helsinki Music Center Musiikkitalo, Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Rock Church, Helsinki Art Museum HAM, Art museum Ateneum - and of course, the great Market Square with all the people, tourists and ships of the harbor. I am authorized guide in Helsinki and Suomenlinna fortress, so we can customize a day tour that includes the best places to visit. I can take you to Nuuksio wilderness area to hike and make pancakes on an open fire, get the Real Finnish Sauna Experience, and of course, during winter time, try the icy water dip from the sauna. I have my own personal Air Controlled car Toyota Avensis / 2011, which I can use to take you to a personal visit around Helsinki sites and Nuuksio. There are places for 2 - 3 passengers in my car. If your group size is bigger, let's say 5, I can rent a bigger van with 8 seats. I will drive the car myself. If your team is larger, I can hire a mini-bus of 16 or 30 seats with a professional driver. Also, a 66 seat bus can be arranged. Welcome to Helsinki, the capital of Finland! Here you can find how it feels to live in a country located between west and the east, see the development from Swedish time trough Russian time, and finally the years of Finland's independence. Helsinki is now a metropolitan area, consisting of Helsinki, Vantaa and Espoo towns. During this tour, you will have the opportunity to view the major sites of Helsinki. We will first drive around Helsinki, and then have lunch at the Market Hall. The route is fully customizable according to your requests.
Our day started with some heavy rain, and some confusion as to where to meet Timo. There was a marathon-type event, so once we were gathered , the challenges of this and the weather were overcome by his navigational skills, and he made the itinerary adjustments to keep us dry, and still see all the highlights. Timo was fantastic. He picked us up from the lobby of our hotel and was there waiting for us right at 9. From there he took us to all of the best spots in Helsinki. He even recommended the best place for lunch where we had delicious salmon soup. He was so knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend!
Great tour with Timo! He was so welcoming and friendly and offered to pick us up at the airport and we ended the tour with a drop off at our hotel. A great combination of seeing the highlights of Helsinki and eating delicious Finnish food. The combination of driving and walking was great.
We can start our day at your hotel or cruise port, and make a personal tour around the most beautiful sites of town, like the "Rock Church", Library Oodi, Senate Square and the Market Square. Finally we leave our car near the Old Market Hall and visit the Market Square. Then we can have lunch either at the Market Square or the Old Market Hall. After the tour, we get back to your hotel or cruise port.
