We’ll start at Senate Square in the older part of the city, where you’ll hear how a fishing village grew into a modern capital shaped by Swedish influence and Russian conquerors. From there, I’ll guide you down to Market Square and the Old Market Hall, perfect for sampling Finnish treats like smoked salmon or cinnamon buns. Next, we’ll step into everyday Finnish life at Oodi Central Library, the “living room for everyone.” More than just shelves and books, Oodi is an architectural gem buzzing with creativity. No Helsinki tour would be complete without the Rock Church (Temppeliaukio), a unique structure carved straight into granite. Depending on your interests, we can also visit the Sibelius Monument, honoring our national composer. I’ll also give you the best tips for visiting some of Helsinki’s public saunas.
