Discover Helsinki and Finland with a Local Expert! Travel, food and wine are in my DNA! With a Finnish mother and an Italian father, I grew up between two cultures, developing a lifelong passion for travelling, discovering new places and sharing cultural experiences. I live in Helsinki, my favourite city in the world, where I have been creating authentic, dynamic and memorable travel experiences since 2013. With professional education in tourism, extensive local knowledge and years of experience, I love showing visitors not only the famous sights but also the hidden gems, stories and everyday life that make Finland special. I am an authorised Helsinki, Suomenlinna, Porvoo and Vallisaari guide, offering walking tours, bike tours and culinary experiences. Beyond Helsinki, I also work as a travel designer, creating tailor-made excursions and day trips, particularly in Southern Finland. Finnish design and architecture are among my special interests, and I can arrange dedicated design tours as well as experiences and day trips following in the footsteps of the renowned Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. Food and wine are another passion of mine. With family roots in Italy's Valpolicella wine region, I became a qualified sommelier in 2014 and love introducing visitors to Finnish food culture and local flavours. Choose from my ready-made tours available on this platform, or let me create something just for you! Existing tours can also be customised to suit your interests, schedule and wishes. Private transportation can be arranged, and my services are suitable for individual travellers, private groups and corporate events. LGBTQ+ friendly. Professional background and qualifications: - Authorised Helsinki Guide (2013) - Authorised Suomenlinna Guide (2014) - Authorised Vallisaari Guide (2016) - Official Helsinki Partners Host (2017) - Culinary Tourism Studies (2017) - Authorised Porvoo Guide (2019) - Qualified Sommelier (2014) - Board Member of the Helsinki Guide Association since 2015 - Educational background in Tourism and Music

Christmas in Helsinki is a magical time of year. Festive lights brighten the streets, shop windows glow with seasonal decorations and the scent of Christmas spices fills the air. Join me, Maddalena, for a walk through Helsinki and discover how Finns celebrate Christmas! Did you know Santa Claus comes from Finland? We begin at the Old Market Hall, where you’ll sample delicacies from a traditional Finnish Christmas table, such as mushroom salad, fish and "rosolli". The selection varies depending on availability. Next, we head to Tuomaan Markkinat, Helsinki’s traditional Christmas market, to enjoy a cup of "glögi", Finland’s Christmas drink, with or without alcohol, and soak up the festive atmosphere. Along the way, we’ll explore Helsinki’s sights and hear stories about the city and Finnish traditions. Our walk ends at Oodi Central Library with a traditional Finnish Christmas sweet and, if you wish, a cup of Finnish coffee. Experience Helsinki through its Christmas flavours, traditions and stories!
