Food tour - A taste of Finland

Finnish food is authentic, pure, delicious, and innovative. Welcome to enjoy a tour of Finnish gastronomy! Our country has four seasons, so our dishes are very seasonal. Some savories and sweets are combined with old traditions, and even with certain people. I will introduce you to our kitchen and reveal what some Finnish travelers might take with them when traveling abroad! You will also learn about our history, daily lives, and the people who make up our community. We will also see some of the most important attractions during the tour. If some of these places are closed, they will be replaced with other proper options for tastings. With a good appetite and an empty stomach, there is plenty to taste! **Cruise guests, please inquire about a customized tour with an additional fee for private transportation to and from the port.

I will pick you up from your accommodation/hotel/cruise ship. Let´s start by visiting a local grocery store. On our way to the Food Market, we will see some of Helsinki's most important and oldest landmarks. We will taste typical Finnish foods (fish, reindeer, cinnamon buns, Karelian pastries, berries, etc.). The outdoor Market Square is open from spring to autumn, and we will continue to taste the petit vendace fish, which can only be found in our fresh lakes. - Finnish chocolate and maybe even licorice :) to taste - Some samples, depending on your taste. - I will talk about our food traditions and what we eat in the Sauna :) - Attractions like the Senate Square, Esplanade Park, and the Presidential Palace will be explored during the tour, as well as a Sauna installation. - I will take you back to your hotel/port/accommodation, or you can continue the day in the city.
