Idyllic Porvoo and Haikko Manor 6-hour tour - Just 40 min from Helsinki with a private chauffeur!
Overview of your Helsinki tour
Did you know that Medieval Porvoo received city rights around 1380? The oldest part of the city is at the foot of Kirkkotori, at the upper end of Vuorikatu and Kirkkokatu. Kirkkotori is an old market, the city's first market, where people exchanged goods. The center of medieval Porvoo was moved to the present-day Old Town Hall Market. During the excursion we will stop by the historic Haikko Manor and Albert Edelfelt's Studio. In 1832 Carl Ludvig Engel designed the grid layout of the city center. The red-painted warehouses lining the shores of the river were important trading places and shipping ports! On the hilltop, the Porvoo Cathedral from 15th century hosted the visit of Alexander I in 1809 during the Russian period. We will discover all of this together! The old city and its narrow streets, little handicraft shops, cafés and famous restaurants by walk. You can choose some of the favorite sights mentioned on the itinerary as there are many art galleries, museums and other interesting places to see!
