Discover the capital of the happiest country in the world with me! My name is Nadia and I am an authorized Helsinki Tour Guide, and Helsinkian by choice. I’ve been living in the city since 2009, and over the years I’ve had the privilege of welcoming guests from all walks of life and from many different cultures. I bring together a trained historian’s eye and years of guiding experience to every tour. I specialize in making Finland’s past and present easy to understand and engaging for everyone. Thanks to my solid knowledge of global history, I help visitors see how Finland fits into wider world events—translating local history into a story that feels familiar and relevant, no matter where you come from. Not a history fan? Don't worry! Having taught history to teenagers, I know it's not everyone's cup of tea and I'll make sure you enjoy your tour! Guests often tell me they appreciate my warm, approachable style and the way I connect with people of all ages and cultures. I design each tour around your interests—whether it’s history, architecture, design, or everyday Finnish life—making sure you leave with both knowledge and memorable experiences. And if you don’t see a tour that perfectly fits your needs among my offers, I’ll be happy to create a personalized one just for you. If you are looking for a culturally aware, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic guide who can open up the story of Helsinki in an accessible and personal way, I would be delighted to show you around. Experience Helsinki’s Christmas spirit with me! As winter nights grow longer, Helsinki turns on its lights just in time for Christmas. It’s a busy season since we locals have a lot of gatherings to attend that are called “pikku joulu” —“little Christmas.” On December 6, Independence Day adds another layer of celebration, reminding us how lucky we are to live in the happiest country in the world! On this tour, we’ll stroll through downtown highlights, see how the city dresses for the holidays, and visit the Christmas Market at Senate Square. Along the way, I’ll share stories of Finnish traditions and show how winter here is embraced with community, flavor, and light. We will have our very own pikku koulu when we stop to have glögi, pastries and chocolate!
