I have worked since 2001 as an authorized guide in Helsinki. I am fascinated about modern Finland and what we have achieved as a country with 5 million people in technology as well as with art. Naturally history is important to understand where we are today. These are things I enjoy to tell visitors. In 2004 I was proude to have been elected best tour guide in Helsinki. But I know quite a few other places in Finland too so going out of Helsinki is no problem for me. You are welcome to make request for tours that are not included on my pages and I will be happy to make a customised tour for you. So when you look at my published tours and you can not find exactly the one you would like to make please tell me. I can do. October 2023 Finland was accepted to Nato Spring 2023. We have the longest land border with Russia than any other European Union country. This is an important thing for us and I can and will tell you more why we are now worried Russia. Tours in English, Spanish, German, Swedish and Finnish. You are always welcome to Finland! Be my guest. I am authorized guide in Helsinki and born in Finland. 2004 I was elected best guide in Helsinki by Helsinki Experts, an incoming agency in Helsinki. I studied economics and have a BS.Econ degree so I am fairly good with the Finnish economics too.

I will meet you at the Senate Square the Neo Classical area of Helsinki. But we can meet at your hotel or the cruise ship harbour. We enjoy the work of the Preussian ( German ) architect Carl Ludwig Engel. The buildings by this square are from the time Finland was part of the Russian Empire. We continue to the Katajanokka area know from its art nouveau buildings. We can have a look into the Orthodox Church Uspenski, it is probably the biggest orthodox church in western Europe. There is about 2 % of the Finnish people belonging to the Orthodox Church. Most of us in Finland are Lutherans. We will walk through our main railway station design by Eliel Saarinen. Then we will visit Oodi library and it became famous already during its first year 2018. In Oodi you can lend books or use a sewing machine and a lot of other activities. Opposite from Oodi we have some other interesting building like the Finlandia house that is a work of Alvar Aalto.
We start at the Senate square, we pass by our market square and arrive to Katajanokka. The area is know from quite a few art nouveau buildings. There is about 600 art nouveau buildings in Helsinki. A visit in the Uspenski church and we continue towards the House of estates and the National Archives of Finland. Railways square and our main railway station and with the National Theatre of Finland close by. National Romantic building style. Oodi, the library and Music House.
