A private full day to explore indigenous markets, the local culture, the food and the Equator line. Otavalo, Peguche and Cotacachi are (mainly) indigenous towns famous for their beautifully crafted products and live culture, while Quitsato sundial provides a different perspective on the equator line based on the local cosmovision. If the time and interest allow we could visit Cuicocha lake (tickets not included) for a short walk to enjoy the views and flora.
We depart from Quito and drive for about an hour, our first stop, Quitsato sundial where to get an indigenous perspective of the equator line. Then we continue to Otavalo (Poncho's market) with a quick break for traditional biscuits with coffee and enjoying the stunning views. After some bargaining and souvenir shopping we can visit Peguche to witness how weaved products are crafted the old fashioned way or continue to Cotacachi to check its leather goods. Lunch place shall be suggested appropriately. When possible (timewise and interest) a short walk to visit Cuicocha lake can be the perfect last activity before returning to Quito.
