I am a native Copenhagener with a deep knowledge of Denmark. I have lived and travelled abroad extensively, and I really enjoy welcoming foreigners to the city I love so much. I both do walking tours in Copenhagen and bike or bus tours in or out of Copenhagen. My tours are always custom-designed to fit your interests and needs, and I hope you will experience that you both meet a local friend but also a deeply professional tour guide who really knows his city and culture and can put together a great tour and a great day/days for you. My interests span history over architecture and city planning to modern society and life in Denmark and beyond. I have guided professionally since 2014, but I also have a human resource background and a M. Sc. in Intercultural communication, and when I don't do guided tours, I teach Danish culture and Danish business culture to high-skilled foreigners coming to Copenhagen to work through my own company. Some of the low season, I also lead tours through Europe for an Australian company. Most of my tours in Copenhagen are walking tours, simply because it's the best way to explore inner Copenhagen and the surrounding districts - it's a compact city, and cars don't have a high priority, so walking (or biking) is the best way to get around the central parts of the city. (If you prefer biking or bussing instead of walking, that is also possible). For tours outside Copenhagen I mostly use a trusted bus driver and his bus, but I can also make (more economical) versions using public transport. I would like to give you a tour where you both see the Copenhagen highlights but also satisfy your curiosity of the modern life in Denmark, whatever your interests might be. During the longer tour, I like to include places where you can try a traditional Danish lunch - the "smørrebrød" (open faced sandwiches) - probably the most important addition from the Danish kitchen, and a thing I something do workshops in myself and like to present to guests. Apart from living in Copenhagen, I have spent 4-5 years living abroad (the United States, Argentina and Germany especially). I like to do outstanding tours and service, so if you need some help to plan the rest of your trip in Copenhagen before or after our tour, I am also happy to give advice. I really like meeting people from other countries, and hope to see you on one of my tours. MSc in Intercultural communication and management, university studies in Pennsylvania, USA and Buenos Aires, Argentina Official Danish tourist guide license from Roskilde University (one year full time studies) Broad and deep knowledge of Denmark, Europe and beyond - traveling, living abroad, and meeting people from different cultures have been my interest since childhood. I will not drive myself but hire a driver and van (or accompany you in your vehicle) on the tours that requires driving. (Both for insurance reasons and because I like to focus on the guiding).

Surrounding the inner city of Copenhagen you have some of the most interesting areas of town - the working-class areas of Vesterbro and Nørrebro and the "Little Amsterdam" district Christianshavn. I made diverse and very exciting Vesterbro my home many years ago, and I would love to show you why, plus the other districts where you find the soul of the innovative, hip, caring, and yet historic Copenhagen. One of the highlights of this tour is Christiania - "the hippie commune" - whose birth was in 1971 when 500 "flower-power hippies" invaded the old navy ramparts to build their own Utopia in the green surroundings. Despite the political controversy over the years, the commune exists to this day - the central part being Scandinavia's favorite hang-out place for soft drugs - or alternative concerts, street art, or just a beer after work. The majority of the space is a wonderful and photogenic mix of nature and home-built houses, from simple sheds to artisanal octagonal pyramids.
Vesterbro: Meatpacking district, diversity, red-light district, boutique clothing stores (if between 11-17 Monday-Friday), pocket park, gourmet coffee, food, and more. Christiania: "Pusher Street" (big selection of soft drugs - but you'll be safe), hippie commune and history of Christiania, homebuilt houses in romantic settings, second-hand stores, alternative cafes, street art, city ramparts, and more. Christianshavn - "Little Amsterdam of Copenhagen" - canals, cafés, and the oldest houses in Copenhagen. If we go on the bike: Nørrebro - multi-culture and contrasts, Public cemetery where Hans Christian Andersen, Søren Kirkegaard and many more are buried, "Alternative streets" with gourmet foods - and more. Copenhagen biking culture: "The bicycle snake" and other solutions that have made Copenhagen the probably most bike-friendly city in the world. The biking tour includes an introduction to Copenhagen bike rules. The tour can be customized according to your preferences, please inquire.

Depending on your wishes we walk or bike or both. The options are: 1. Walk: an in-depth exploration of Vesterbro, Christianshavn, and Christiania. On the way, we can decide if we like to use the bus, taxi - or perhaps a city bike -for the transport to Christianshavn and Christiania where we again walk. 2. Rental bikes: We manage to cover a bigger area including Nørrebro since we have our own bikes at our disposal the whole day.
