I am a native Copenhagener with a deep knowledge of Denmark. I have lived and travelled abroad extensively, and I really enjoy welcoming foreigners to the city I love so much. I both do walking tours in Copenhagen and bike or bus tours in or out of Copenhagen. My tours are always custom-designed to fit your interests and needs, and I hope you will experience that you both meet a local friend but also a deeply professional tour guide who really knows his city and culture and can put together a great tour and a great day/days for you. My interests span history over architecture and city planning to modern society and life in Denmark and beyond. I have guided professionally since 2014, but I also have a human resource background and a M. Sc. in Intercultural communication, and when I don't do guided tours, I teach Danish culture and Danish business culture to high-skilled foreigners coming to Copenhagen to work through my own company. Some of the low season, I also lead tours through Europe for an Australian company. Most of my tours in Copenhagen are walking tours, simply because it's the best way to explore inner Copenhagen and the surrounding districts - it's a compact city, and cars don't have a high priority, so walking (or biking) is the best way to get around the central parts of the city. (If you prefer biking or bussing instead of walking, that is also possible). For tours outside Copenhagen I mostly use a trusted bus driver and his bus, but I can also make (more economical) versions using public transport. I would like to give you a tour where you both see the Copenhagen highlights but also satisfy your curiosity of the modern life in Denmark, whatever your interests might be. During the longer tour, I like to include places where you can try a traditional Danish lunch - the "smørrebrød" (open faced sandwiches) - probably the most important addition from the Danish kitchen, and a thing I something do workshops in myself and like to present to guests. Apart from living in Copenhagen, I have spent 4-5 years living abroad (the United States, Argentina and Germany especially). I like to do outstanding tours and service, so if you need some help to plan the rest of your trip in Copenhagen before or after our tour, I am also happy to give advice. I really like meeting people from other countries, and hope to see you on one of my tours. MSc in Intercultural communication and management, university studies in Pennsylvania, USA and Buenos Aires, Argentina Official Danish tourist guide license from Roskilde University (one year full time studies) Broad and deep knowledge of Denmark, Europe and beyond - traveling, living abroad, and meeting people from different cultures have been my interest since childhood. I will not drive myself but hire a driver and van (or accompany you in your vehicle) on the tours that requires driving. (Both for insurance reasons and because I like to focus on the guiding).

On this tour, we will visit all the main sights of central Copenhagen. We will explore the quaint medieval part of town, as well as the majestic northern part where we'll see such things as Amalienborg where the queen lives, the Marble church, the iconic Nyhavn (New Harbour), and much more, depending on your interests, weather, our speed, etc. On a more thematic level, we will explore the origins of Copenhagen, the era of the powerful kings, the reformation, the development of democracy, and where that has led us up till today, the harbor, and not least modern life as it takes place in this old city, be it architectural high-lights or the biking culture. As your guide, I would love to share my native city with you, but also my experiences working for the city and national government. After years of living abroad, and teaching Danish culture to outsiders, I can show you Copenhagen and Denmark from a broader perspective.
You will experience, among many other things - Christiansborg - birthplace of Copenhagen and political center of Denmark - Nyhavn - the famous harbor front with colored houses - Amalienborg - the royal residence - Marble Church - Copenhagen harbour with views to the Opera, etc. - Kongens Nytorv - 'King's new square' - Strøget - at the outset in 1962 the longest pedestrian street in the world - Church of our Lady - the magnificent neoclassical cathedral, and site of the reformation in Denmark - Gammeltorv/Nytorv - the heart of medieval Copenhagen - Round Tower - The 400-year-old astronomical observatory - Kongens Have - "King's garden" - with Rosenborg castle - Lunch (or dinner if late), for example at a traditional Danish "smørrebrød" place The tour can be customized according to your preferences, so please inquire. Options include entering Rosenborg castle (crown jewels), Royal Reception Rooms, Round Tower, seeing hippie Christiania (smaller groups only), or doing the extra walk to the Little Mermaid, etc

Central Copenhagen is best done by walking since things are close to each other, and we save the hassle of parking and getting in and out the car. If the pick up place is not in central station, we could consider taking public transportation or a taxi to reach the central area.
Copenhagen, Denmark
Airport: ,Cruise: ,ByGuide: Alternatively to your hotel etc, in front of the central "Vor Frue Kirke" (Church of Our Lady) is a good place to start the tour.
