Fredericia; private walking tour in the old town

Some years back I was working in this fascinating toen. Now our daughter lives in Fredericia, and we have together walked kilometres on top of the ramparts overlooking the town. Don't be frightened of a walking tour; our daughter has got rheumatism and still walks the ramparts! In Fredercia you dock very close to the town centre.

Our walking tour will give you a good feeling of liver, before and now, in a fortified garrison town. On our walking tour we pass building, squares and statues describing the varied history of this planned garrison town from mid 1600'ds. From the founding, the settling of Jews in the town, via the wars in the 1800'ds to present day. You will se canons and mortars stand proudly on the ramparts, and also see the White Tower (Det Hvide Vandtårn), one of the town's icons.

We visit the town museum with several houses depicting the history of Fredericia if time and opening hours allow this.

Odense; walking tour in the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen; visiting the brand new Andersen Museum

When I was in the army in Odense, in my young days, we were marching like the soldier in the fairy tale "The Tinderbox" written by one of the most beloved writers in the world; Hans Christian Andersen.

He was born in Odense and we will be walking in his footsteps, passing the cathedral where he was confirmed, the place where his mother washed clothes, the place where he fell in love with the world of theatre, the house in which he was taught and many other places that belong to his story.

Odense, in the middle of Denmark- It is waiting for you to tell you a story about the Ugly Duckling, which later became a beautiful swan; Hans Christian Andersen.

The yellow house where he was born in 1805, and where he spent most of his childhood, is now part of  the museum dedicated to him. Inagurated in 2021 the new, mainly underground museum is a fantastic Andersen Experience Center. Here his life and fairy tales are visualized in fantastic audio- and videodisplays

Full Day Tour from Fredericia visiting Viking site Jelling; Unesco World Heritage and Fredericia

Jelling was for more than 1000 years ago the center for the rule of the Viking king, Harald Bluetooth. He managed to gather Denmark as one country and to change the country into a Christian one. The town Jelling hosts the magnificent runic stones, burial hills, and stone ship and is the oldest Unesco World Heritage Site in Denmark. Enjoy the area and the exhibition.
Also, we will visit the Viking café Sejd in Jelling, where you can buy genuine Viking food. (at your own cost)

We go by train to Jelling. This is a beautiful ride through the hilly landscape in East Jutland. We pass under the beautiful Vejle Fjord bridge, drive through the forest and along the fjord and through the scenic valley of Grejs.

Kolding - Unesco Creative City & unique medieval castle Half Day Tour

30 years back I lived in Kolding town and for the first time enjoyed the medieval castle rising over the town telling stories about numerous Danish kings, wars, and even Napoleon. Kolding was the gateway to Denmark for many centuries, and therefore a royal castle was built here. The river running through the town used to be the border to the duchies north of Germany. This history is depicted in the town.

For the last 27 years I have lived in the municipality of Kolding and for the last 10 years offered guided tours in the town. Often with locals who are thrilled to learn something new about their own town.

The historical castle uniquely renovated in an alternative way by the Exner is one part of the tour. The sights in the city; church, townhall, renaissance houses, medieval crossing site over the river is another one. Modern design is the hird part of the tour.
