A Danish anthropologist and global adventurer. I provide you with a customized, personal and memorable experience in Denmark, where I am born and raised. Being a local with a long overseas experience (25 years in Asia, America and Africa) has given me the capacity to have a good feel for what makes Europe, Denmark and Copenhagen exiting for a visitor. I live in the central Østerbro neighbourhood of Copenhagen. Whenever I have some free time, I enjoy riding bicycle or hiking in the beautiful nature surrounding Copenhagen and to explore natural, cultural and historical places. I divide my time between being a tour leader to Asian countries, giving lectures about China, Taiwan, Cambodia and Vietnam and being a ToursByLocals guide in Copenhagen plus a few other things. I am very open to customizing tours to suit your specific interests. My aim is to give you a unique, personal and memorable experience of Copenhagen, Zealand, Southern Sweden or beyond and that each tour will be different. I have always been fascinated by the small island of Møn because it has so much to offer. Møn, Falster, and Lolland are where many of the Danes that migrated to America in the 19th century, originated from. I decided to create this tour after taking an American couple on an "ancestry tour" of the island. We will discover the white cliffs of Møn, a french 18th century aesthetically landscaped park, Klintholm Harbour, the amazing 13th-century frescoes in Fanefjord Church, and last the Neolithic passage grave Kong Asgers Høj. As we drive along on taking in the amazing views, I will introduce everything to you and explain life in old as well as modern-day Denmark.
We thoroughly enjoyed our excursion to the countryside to see the quaint, small towns, Stone Age burial grounds, geological phenomenon of the white cliffs, pre-reformation Catholic churches with uncovered frescos now in Lutheran churches! Scenery was gorgeous! Unique to see the islands that are so very pristine. Henrik is lovely, accommodating, and flexible with much knowledge.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Henrik. Aside from the Forest Tower and Møns Klint, he included stops that he thought we would find interesting and he was right! The beautiful manor garden, stone age tomb and church with frescoes are wonderful places to visit. And Henrik is a knowledgeable guide and great company. If you're traveling to Copenhagen, be sure to get Henrik to show you around. It's money and day well spent.

Great day with a fantastic guide. Very flexible with our itinerary. We saw everything planned and then some. Very knowledgeable with an amazing educational background in anthropology and world-wide travel experiences to share. We especially enjoyed the added visit to Steven's Klimt and the old and new Hojerup churches. The old one has partly fallen of the cliff into the ocean. He stopped whenever we wanted a photo stop. If there were 6 stars, I would have given him that rating !! A great day !!
Would highly recommend this tour. Was flexible and we added a stop at Camp Adventure to climb the tree top walkway. On to Mons Klint, a must see. The gravesite passage tomb was a great piece of Danish history as well as Fanfjord Church. We would have never found the last two spots on our own and so enjoyed them! It was like traveling with an old friend. Henrik was very knowledgeable and enjoyed the conversation!! Let this tour guide plan your day and you can relax and enjoy the day!
