Once a history teacher, now a passionate guide uncovering Copenhagen's hidden stories and scenic wonders since early 2014. Welcoming countless tourists and schoolchildren, my tours aren't about endless facts and figures, but about discovering the tales tucked behind facades and in hidden alleys. A guided tour is an experience—a resonating story—and Copenhagen is brimming with such tales. Themes like Hans Christian Andersen's legacy or pivotal periods like the 1600s, marked by King Christian IV's grand constructions, offer captivating journeys. Best explored on foot or bike, Copenhagen's charm is its compactness, making almost every corner accessible even on short visits. Opt for the 'Hafnia' tour for a comprehensive introduction or let's tailor one that fits your interests. Public transportation also offers an excellent way to explore. Explore the suggested tours for inspiration, and I look forward to welcoming you to wonderful Copenhagen!" Qualified schoolteacher with 18 years experience - main subjects: danish, history and social studies. A seasoned storyteller - "Storyteller of the month" for april 2017 as selected by the "Storytellers in Denmark" Association. I do not drive and only on rare occations do I arrange tours by car or bus.

Once a small fishing village, then along came the Bishop Absalon, erected his fortress and slayed the pirates - and the rest is history. We will make our way through this history, see the sights and get to know the stories and the people behind them. From the castles to the courtyards, the royal weddings, the peaceful revolutions, the luxury of the mighty and the misery of the poor - this tour has it all, including a possible explanation to why Copenhagen is consistantly rated among the best cities on the planet. Having lived here all my life, I am sometimes amazed how much I still love this city. I hope to be able to convey what a wonderful place you've decided to visit. There is certainly a potential "Wow" hiding here and there. Let me know about any special interests or places you wish to go.
Depending on the weather, your wishes and interests and how much in a hurry to see it all you are, we could include: Kastellet - the 400 year old citadel Danish design Museum - set in a 18th century hospital The Marble church - 140 years in the making and a beautiful building Amalienborg - the Royal palace Nyhavn - once a bustling harbour, now a buzzing beer scene by the old pier The Royal library Garden - a hidden gem. Christiansborg palace - house of Parliament The National museum, the Workers museum, Rosenborg castle (and the crown jewels) One of the city districts: Vesterbro - once a place only locals and fools dared to go, now a hipsters paradise Nørrebro - diverse, multiethic and home of the city's two most interesting cemetaries or Christianshavn - almost like Amsterdam, but still uniquely danish And most importanly: all the alleys and courtyards where noone ever goes. We will!
