Hi I'm Gabriel, born '71, I've lived in Copenhagen for almost 20 years and I am a Danish citizen, I know my way around my city. It's a beautiful place, and I'm really looking forward to introducing you to its rich and varied life and history. Maybe you've always wanted to visit Copenhagen, perhaps you have something in mind that you particularly want to see. Well, that's absolutely no problem. I'm here to help and give you the best time I possibly can. Get in touch, and we'll tailor a tour just for you. In Copenhagen, everything is within reach. It's easy to get around the city by bike, but if you prefer I'm happy to transport you by car. If you're planning to spend a few days here, I'd strongly suggest that you consider travelling further afield, and I'm happy to organise a day trip that can take in any number of historic sites and attractions. There are Viking remains and ships, Hamlet's Castle and various Royal Palaces all within easy reach. We can even pop across the channel to Sweden! I'm a licensed Tour Guide, educated at Roskilde University, with 15 years' experience conducting tours within museums and attractions and throughout the Copenhagen itself. It's my city, and I love showing it off. I look forward to sharing it with you. Place to visit: Copenhagen, Roskilde, Malmo, Lund. . . Official Tourist Guide Diploma from the University of Roskilde (2015); More than 15 years experience as a guide in Copenhagen Qualified sightseeing driver; Student at Danish Technical University (DTU) Transport Engineering I'm able to guide you anywhere in the Copenhagen area without restriction. However, if you want to visit Christiania, I'm only able to transport you but not to guide you as the residents of Christiania only allow tours conducted by their own guides.

Overview of your Copenhagen tour

Sweden is actually just across the channel from Copenhagen, and you'll notice a big difference between the two countries. They're joined by a suspension bridge with one of the longest spans in the world - a sight in itself which we'll cross as part of our journey. Starting when I collect you from your accomodation, we'll take in the bustle, sights and sounds of the centre of Copenhagen, inluding all those landmarks that you just can't return home without having visited: The Little Mermaid alone on her rock, the old port of Nyhaven with its cafes and historic waterfront, and the royal palaces of your fancy - Rosenborg, Amelienborg, or Christiansborg. To get to Sweden, all we have to do is get back in our vehicle and enjoy the ride as we head south across Øresund Bridge - don't forget your passports!

Exploring Copenhagen and Lund with Gabriel was a highlight of my trip. He skillfully combines language expertise with a rich awareness of Denmark’s past and culture. The way he describes landmarks and introduces important historical figures shows both his patience and his enthusiasm for sharing the local heritage. His personal anecdotes added a special touch, making the tour much more than just sightseeing. Truly an exceptional experience.

Gabriel was truly WONDERFUL and planned our tour to perfection given our limited time in the city. Not only did he take us to all points of interest in Sweden and as well Copenhagen, he even accommodated a last minute request and still got us to the ship with time to spare. Friendly, personable, and detail oriented - if you are looking to truly see Copenhagen and Sweden -we highly recommend this tour and Gabriel. FANTASTIC!

Wow what an unbelievable day. 2 countries in one day! The weather was a bit crazy but it didn't stop us from seeing and doing everything Gabriel had planned for us. We had a full day with an amazing lunch at beautiful hotel in Sweden. We never imagined we would be able to visit 2 countries in one day. Well worth staying an extra day after our cruise. Highly recommend Gabriel and Toursbylocals. We are planning our next trip and will be looking forward to booking with them.

Gabriel is a friendly and professional guide who met the main objectives of our tour day. However, at times we felt he was uncertain of details of the core elements of the tour including directions, facts about sites (which he was googling on the fly), and timing. This was atypical of the licensed guides we have used before.

Gabriel was extremely professional and a lot of fun to spend a day in Sweden with from Copenhagen. We really got a taste of Sweden and spent time time with locals rather than just the usual tourist spots. Gabriel was very patient with our rowdy kids and went out of his way (literally) to allow me a stop at the FC Copenhagen Fan Store on the way back. Highly recommended!

Gabriel showed us a wonderful day in Sweden. Our first visit to the country with stops in Lund and Malmo and a quick visit to a beautiful old convent by the sea out in the countryside. Upon crossing the bridge back into Denmark, Gabriel brought us to the quaint fishing village of Dragør for our final stop. It was a delightful day and we learned so much. Gabriel was a great host.

Your Copenhagen tour itinerary

Our first stop in Sweden is Malmo's trademark building the Turning Torso: a 180m corkscrew tower designed by Swiss/Spanish Architect Santiago Calatrava. It's quite a contrast to Malmo's medieval city centre, which is our next stop - there are over 200 restaurants where we can have our lunch (or we can eat in Lund if you prefer)! I'm looking forward to showing you around Lund. It's slightly off the beaten track and I really recommend it - it's like travelling back in time! We'll visit the Cathedral, and take a stroll through the surrounding streets and take the pulse of this intriguing town. Depending on how you feel, and how much time we have left, we can journey on to rural Sweden and the idyllic Bosjo Abbey. Set in grounds right by - almost on - a lake, it was founded in 1080, with the present day buildings stemming from that time. Now, with a head full of new impressions it's time to drive back to your accomodation and a good night's sleep.
