Overview of your Dubrovnik tour

Every "Must List" about Dubrovnik must begin with its ancient walls. After meeting at the agreed location the road will take us to a high ridge. I would like to take you to this spot as it will give you the chance to enjoy the best vista down on Dubrovnik's Old Town. Dubrovnik is a city that you simply must see from the above. A real feast for the eye and the photographer's lens. We shall then drive towards the Old Town which is hemmed in by towering mountains and the Adriatic Sea but these natural fences were reinforced by the sturdy walls which defended and defined the city limits. The walking tour within the Walls and on the Walls will give me the chance to share the passion I have for the rich history of our city. I am a history buff and therefore I shall do my best to bring to life Dubrovnik's past. In order to restore your exploratory strength you will have enough time for a lunch at a local restaurant. I shall be happy to give you a few options.

Wow we had such a great tour with Paolo! He was so great to work with and answered any questions that I had in advance and made it a seamless experience. From meeting us promptly at port, to arranging a driver to see the beautiful views from up high, to a fantastic tour/commentary of Dubrovnik Old Town and the walls, it was such a highlight of our vacation. It was also so great to customize the tour to the needs of our group, as while on the actual tour we could decide how long we wanted to spend on the wall vs. enjoying the Old Town. Our group varied in ages up to my amazing 80 year old mom who like the rest of our trip, conquered the wall and the steps! Thank you Paolo.... highly recommend!

We had a terrific tour of Dubrovnik with Paolo. His passion for his city and his knowledge of its history, as well as his friendly and easy-going manner, made the tour both informative and fun. We particularly enjoyed starting the tour with a drive up above Dubrovnik, where the incredible view let us see the entire walled city (and also meant we didn't need to take the busy cable car). We found the walk around the city walls to be very interesting, and the views were amazing. If you do this tour with Paolo, you will have a great time and learn a lot.

Your Dubrovnik tour itinerary

During the walking tour, you'll get to: • walk down the main street called Stradun • stop and take a photo or two of Onofrio's Fountain built at the very end of the medieval aqueduct which was an amazing feat of engineering given the time period. • stop in front the Franciscan Monastery and learn about its pharmacy. Did you know that it is one of the oldest in the world? • photograph and enjoy the elaborate architecture of Sponza Palace and the Rector's Palace • stop in front of St Blaise's Chruch and learn about the protector of our city. Should you decide to take a peek inside, knees and shoulders must be covered, • walk down the Jewish street with its Synagogue, • take a look at the commercial heart of medieval Dubrovnik i. e. the Old Port • walk the Walls of Dubrovnik which have been included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. Hat, bottle of water and comfy shoes are highly recommended! I'll be happy to customize the tour for you, please inquire for a quote.
