Greetings, dear guests! It'll be my pleasure to host you in Dubrovnik during your stay! I am Ivana and I am an official licensed guide for Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik-Neretva County. Before I decided to become a full-time tour guide, I was studying at American College of Management and Technology in Dubrovnik, division of Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) where I majored in Small Business. After graduation, for several years I was working in management of one Croatian hotel chain when I decided to make a big career change and pursue new adventures. I enjoy my job in such extent I stopped considering it a job long time ago. Every day is an opportunity to meet new people from all over the world which is one of the greatest benefits of this job. During the guiding, I try to depict what life used to be like in old Ragusa and what life is like today in Dubrovnik. Of course, ages, years, architectural styles are all equally important, but without the perspective of any given era, guiding becomes a dull historical class which is definitely not my style. I take advantage of every winter, when business is a bit slower (we are mainly a summer destination), to travel around to wherever and to catch up on my reading. What intrigues me the most are Dubrovnik's legends and stories one cannot easily access on the Internet. I am not focused only on history, I also do Game of Thrones tours that are vastly popular in Dubrovnik (or should I say, King's Landing) - on this tour I take you to filming sites and locations and share stories from the set. Overview of your Dubrovnik tour
I created this tour with one goal in mind - to show you the best sight of my town and to share my local insights with you - tricks, tips and locations that I'll gladly share as we commence with our little adventure. Before visiting the old city itself, we shall see its surrounding a bit - you'll notice how dispersed Dubrovnik is and that it actually has many lovely vistas perfect for photo-stops. We'll hop over to the Dubrovnik bridge that connects two shores, the top of Srdj mountain and then we'll head to the old town. That is the ideal way to get the full perspective of what the city looks like and has to offer. All along the tour, the present shall meet the past and make a perfect story blended into this half-day excursion. This is a great and full-rounded half-day tour and also a fabulous way for you to get to know Dubrovnik all in a single day while guided by a reliable and knowledgeable local guide.

Dubrovnik was our first port on our just completed Adriatic Cruise on the Queen Victoria. We are loyal users of Tours by Locals because they nearly always provide the very best guides, and Ivana again proved us right. We immediately fell in love with her as she rode up to the meeting place on her white Vespa and greeted us with a beautiful smile. Her driver was just as charming and he and she drove us up to Srdj Hill for a breathtaking view of the entire port city and Historical center. The remainder of the tour was filled with interesting history and anecdotes of the many conquerors of Dubrovnik, the role of the Orthodox Church, life under the former Yugoslavian rule, and living today as an independent nation and premier tourist destination. Ivana is a charming and energetic young lady and speaks with better English grammar than most native speakers! We give her an A+!!

We especially liked her quick understanding of the pace we wanted. We were never rushed, and despite having only one day, it always felt like we had time to enjoy what we were seeing and learning about. We would recommend Ivana if you want to see Dubrovnik and the surrounding areas.
Your Dubrovnik tour itinerary
This is a suggested itinerary: - pick up at the Gruz port or other location we specify beforehand - drive to Dubrovnik bridge - great panoramic view - here we'll get out of the vehicle and enjoy the view - drive to Srdj hill - we'll see Dubrovnik's old town from above and explore the site on foot for a bit - exploring old town on foot - what we saw from above we'll now see and experience much closer - some of the locations in the old town that we'll see are: Onofrio's fountain Pile Gate Franciscan church Stradun street Sponza palace Orlando's column Rector's Palace The Cathedral Gundulic Square Jesuit stairs and many more After the sightseeing, you'll have some free time for you to enjoy old town at your own pace. The driver will pick you up at a previously designated time and drop you off at Gruz port or another location. If you have other sites and locations in mind, please let me know and I will customize the tour for you.
