Hello dear guests! My name is Marijana, your private tourist guide in Dubrovnik. I was born in Dubrovnik in 1984, studied Aquaculture at the University of Dubrovnik and graduated in 2007. From the same University in 2014, I obtained a licence to become a tourist guide - one of the best decisions of my life! In these few years I've been a guide, I have had the pleasure to meet hundreds of people from all over the world by working for a number of tourist agencies. I find this job to be dynamic, interesting, responsible and above all fun - it is hard to even think of it as a job. It is an opportunity for me to teach my guests about our culture, history, traditions and everyday life. By choosing a private tour you get the chance to see Dubrovnik and the area around it through the eyes of a local and I have the chance to see it through yours and fall in love with it every day all over again. Believe me, Dubrovnik really has a way of making you fall in love with it! Are you interested in sightseeing, culture, history, traditions, cuisine. . . ? If so, you can choose one of my tours listed below or simply contact me and together we will tailor something that suits your needs, interests and time you have here. It would be my pleasure to be your guide! I look forward to meeting you - see you in Dubrovnik, Marijana Licensed tourist guide for Dubrovnik region since 2014 Member of Dubrovnik Tourist Guide Association B.A.degree in Aquaculture at the University of Dubrovnik For those of you coming via cruise ship, I will be waiting for you in front of the border crossing (not far from the ship;the one next to the main bus station) as only big tourist agencies are granted entrance to the harbour

Have you heard the proverb "The pen is mightier than the sword"? - Dubrovnik's history is a proof of how true that is. Let me tell you about it while we roam the backstreets of the Old town, walk down Stradun, admire the Rector's Palace, and climb up the walls of Dubrovnik. The City Walls were guardians for centuries but it took much more than stone to preserve the freedom. . . . find out what it was! Get a view from a local on the Homeland war, consequences of it, the importance of tourism, what more to do and see. . . tips on where to eat, drink, shop, have coffee . . . . . . As for the coffee. . whatever you do, don't ask me for a coffee-to-go!! For locals it is either/or - either you drink coffee or you go :-) So blend in with me and enjoy your coffee!
After meeting at one of the entrances to the Old Town (Pile / Ploče gate), we'll do the following: * introduction into Dubrovnik's history before going inside its walls while enjoying the view upon Lovrjenac (St. Lawrence's) fortress * climb up and walk the City Walls with views of the streets and bell towers (appropriate walking-footware and hats advised) * walk through Stradun (Placa) and the backstreets of the Old Town * stop at all main sites with explanation: - Onofrio's Fountain, - Franciscan monastery, - Town's open market (opened only during morning hours), - the Cathedral, - Rector's Palace, - Dominican monastery, - Sponza Palace, - Church of St. Blaise, - Orlando column, - Stradun, Old port. . . **This tour can be fully customized to your preferences. If you need transportation, you would like to visit museums or you had something else in mind, let me know!
