Magical Dubrovnik - 2 hour private tour of the Old Town

Tonka was an amazing tour guide! She communicated well while we planned our tour with her. She was very informative, answered our questions, and gave us insight into Game of Thrones since she was actually an extra in a few scenes! Tonka was attentive, did not rush us, happily took photos, and made sure we were okay when it started to get hot. She even gave us suggestions on where to shop and eat while we are staying in Dubrovnik. I would highly recommend Tonka, as she gave us everything a private tour should. She is also a native of Dubrovnik and grew up here. You cannot go wrong with Tonka!

Tonka was a really wonderful guide. She communicated with us well before the tour and made meeting up in a busy location easy, sending us a photo of where to meet. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history, architecture and culture of Dubrovnik and the surrounding area, and she is so friendly and personable. She asked us what we were most interested in and made sure to focus on those things. We booked this tour for the late afternoon on the day we arrived in Dubrovnik, and it was a perfect introduction to the area. She shared a wealth of information about Dubrovnik and Croatian history, both of long ago and modern history; fascinating archaeological details about recent discoveries in the city and restoration of various ruins; info on culture and customs; and gave us many recommendations for how to best enjoy our time in the city, including ideas to avoid the worst of the summer crowds, what order to see things in to best understand and enjoy each part of our visit, and places to go that we may not have thought of. She made the recent history of the area very personal, telling us about the experiences of her own family, and about her work as an archaeologist. We booked a number of tours for our visit to Croatia and this was the very best. Tonka is thoughtful and passionate about her home, and happy to share what she knows with you. Some of our tours seemed rote and formulaic. Tonka was enthusiastic and made us feel like she was happy to be showing us her "Magical Dubrovnik," as she calls it. Definitely a great introduction to the city and the surrounding area, with an exceptional guide.
