Hello dear traveler, my name is Zdenko. I was born in unique city of Dubrovnik half a century ago and lived most of my life in this Paradise. I spent some years working on cruise ships at Florida and the Caribbean and in November of 1999 I came back home. Since then I have been working in tourism business here in "Jewel of the Adriatic", most of all as tourist guide and driver. My home town is a living monument, a mixture of breath taking nature, architecture, history and art. Living out of Dubrovnik for some years made me even more appreciate my home town if I ever had any doubts in my younger days. One of the reasons why I decided to become a professional tourist guide is meeting people from all over the world and presenting them the most amazing sights of this medieval city with it's beautiful surroundings. I still enjoy in stunning panoramic sights myself and it makes me really happy to share it with travelers from different parts of the world. I consider myself privileged to be born here and to be able to provide the visitors with the real feel of the destination. It would be my pleasure if you decide to visit Dubrovnik to let me guide you through it's beautiful nature and peace of art architecture. I will be glad to provide you with an insider information about its turbulent recent years and share a fascinating history of old Republic with you as well. My tours are created to be possible to adjust it to suits your personal preferences. I will do my best to make your visit to Dubrovnik enjoyable and memorable. Looking forward meeting you soon in Dubrovnik! Best Regards, Zdenko Licensed tourist guide for Dubrovnik-Neretva County Member of Dubrovnik Tourist Guide Association No restrictions

Overview of your Dubrovnik tour

This is the tour where you may try some of the best Croatian wines, Olive oils and oysters, in the same time as you enjoy in unspoiled nature, unpolluted crystal clear blue sea, picturesque landscapes and historical heritage. I will be showing you the Arboretum Trsteno, a 500 year old aristocratic estate with the oldest monument of garden architecture in Croatia. After that, the tour takes us to the medieval town of Ston with Mali Ston and the longest preserved wall in Europe, approximately 3. 5 miles long, which is connecting those two little tower towns that used to protect the Peljesac peninsula from the possible intruders. Economically and strategically this was very important part of the territory of Old Dubrovnik Republic. Besides all other goods the most important were the ancient salt pans, which are still producing the salt in the old traditional way, the same way as for centuries and it's one of the best sea salts in Mediterranean. We will visit the greatest wine region in Croatia, Peljesac.

We totally enjoyed this trip into the beautiful countryside of Dubrovnik. Our guide Zdenko showed us a coastline that is one of the most beautiful anywhere. We had the famous oysters and mussels for lunch in Mal Ston. He has a comfortable vehicle as well. Highly recommend this tour.

Zdenko was a wonderful, informative guide who has great knowledge of his country and the area. Zdenko has a very easygoing demeanor, and we never felt rushed or that we were asking questions about Croatia that were outside his knowledge. The tour showed us so much outside of Dubrovnik in a pleasurable day trip to many different areas. The winery tour and wine tasting were phenomenal. We will 100% book with Zdenko on our return next year.

Zdenko was a fabulous guide, so grateful we were able to spend a full day with him. We learned a tremendous amount of ancient and more recent history, including some personal experiences.

We loved the tour and Zdenko is an excellent tour guide. We saw many wonderful things and learned a lot. Zdenko is very personable, knowledgeable and speaks excellent English. He is a great ambassador for Croatia and the Dubrovnik area. He willingly spent more than the allotted time with us because he wanted to show us so many wonderful things.

Would give Zdenko 6 stars if website allowed it. We booked the tour of the Trsteno Arboretum (medieval gardens once belonged to the Gozze family), Mali Ston and Ston with connecting wall and the Pleljesac Peninsula. He was flexible in planning the day with me. Rather than returning to Dubronik - he dropped us off at the harbor in Orebic for a 15 minute boat ride to Korcula - our next over-night accommodations. (Zdenko insisted on staying with us and helping load our luggage onto the boat.) With the extra time - since it would not be a round trip - we stopped at Homeland War Museum - housed in a fort built by Napolean's forces and used during the recent conflict with Serbia for Croatia's independence. Zdenko was stationed there as a 19 year-old volunteer. His heart-felt descriptions of the fighting made it an extremely moving experience.
