The Experience Gourmet Tour

We were extremely pleased with the tour. The visit to the local market was outstanding. The host, Cristian, is what really made the entire experience enjoyable. He's relaxed, informative, and the time spending with other travelers was great! It felt like we were just visiting friends in the city!

I loved the gourmet tour by chef Tatán! The market visit was a kaleidoscope of colour and I learned a lot about the food of Chile. Then the food itself was excellent, I "helped" a little bit in the kitchen but mainly just enjoyed the delicious food in a great setting with an amazing view over the city. A great way to spend my final day in Santiago!

We had a fabulous day with Chef Tatin! An informative stroll through the fish, meat and veg markets and then on to cooking. We started with delicious fresh oysters on the half shell, and then crostini with cheese. We made the most delicious ceviche! I'll be making this one as soon as we get home! This was followed by roasted Hake. A new fish for us and so delicious! Cheesecake and espresso for dessert. It doesn't get any better! Such a great day with Cristian! Thank you so much!

Tatan was brilliant. Near perfect English, great sense of humour, very knowledgeable, suited his pace to us and our questions. We visited the fish, meat and vegetable markets, selecting produce to take to his very attractive apartment to prepare. The teaching was excellent, and full of his passion for food. We sat enjoying the view, discussing everything under the sun, and eating oysters, ceviche, charquican (a traditional Chilean stew) ending with cheesecake. It was well worth the effort of getting straight off the plane from London, stopping only for a shower, before beginning the tour. An inspiring introduction to Santiago, and a real privilege to be made so welcome. Thank you Tatan and we hope we see you again.

A fabulous experience! We were a party of four. As food and wine enthusiasts, it was outstanding. From the local markets to cooking our meal at his home, it was fantastic. Perfect for those of us that are food and wine lovers. I rarely write reviews (usually negative) but this warrants high praise. Tatan was an excellent guide and a superb host. Exceeded all of our expectations.

This is an absolute must do on your trip to Santiago!! Tartan is fabulous!! The tour of the markets was amazing! The highlight though was engaging with Tatan, cooking iathis home and dining on the terrace! From start to finish this was one of the best tours we have ever experienced!!
