If you are seeking to get to know Chile through its gastronomy and drinks, this is the experience for you and your tastebuds! Enjoy a day touring Santiago's most emblematic places and explore the simple but generous cuisine that comes from my land, visiting the city's most well known fruit & vegetable market and typical local food stalls. Travel back in time with me to explore some of the places I used to visit with my father, who owned his own restaurant and exposed me to the culinary arts at a young age. This sparked an interest that took me through culinary school and all over the world including France, Spain, thee Caribean and the USA. Whether you want sweet or savory, there's something for you! From a "completo italiano", "sopaipilla" accompanied by our sweet and typical summer drink "mote con huesillo" to a traditional chilean meal of the season.... your palate will fall in love with our country, and even more with its people!
Your Santiago tour itinerary
-We'll start with a pick-up from your lodging in Santiago. -Our first stop will be at the fruit & vegetable market "Vega Central", where you'll see a variety of the different fruits & vegetables that our country is known for and the different cultures Chile's been exposed to. -We'll then go to the downtown area, to visit our main square "Plaza de Armas" and government palace "La Moneda" to travel back in time to visit the landmarks that shape the history of Chile, While in this area, you will have the chance to try a completo or a typical chilean sandwich of your choice, sopaipilla is part of the menu as well! Also a seasonal meal will be offered...such as Pastel de Choclo or Humita. -At last, a visit to the top of Cerro San Cristobal in Santiago Metropolitan Park for dessert!!! here you'll see the beautiful views of the Andes Mountains, the Central Valley, and everything that surrounds it. Mote con huesillo here is a must :) -Drop-off at your lodging in Santiago. (Customizable).
