Hola Amigos! My name is Carolina, and I'm a food and Wine passionate/tour guide :) I have a journalism mayor, but after landing my first job in a vineyard, I fell in love with it and decided to dedicate 100 per cent to be an ambassador for Chilean wines and gastronomy. I have worked in vineyards of the most important wine valleys of central Chile, as well as the top restaurants of Santiago, while educating myself as much as posible. My passion for travelling, food and different cultures, led me to start guiding for an American company. This job gave me a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends all the time, while revisiting the vineyards and seeing what's new to taste. I'm a history and politics passionate too, specially Andean cultures, so I would love to take you not just on wine and culinary tours, but also tell you as much as possible about our ancestors and all their legacy. And if that can be done with a glass of wine in our hands, why not? :) We can do walking tours if you want, but if you need a car, I have the perfect van and driver: my wonderful husband! He's a tour guide too, and trust me, we make the best team. Since I enjoy my work so much, I want you to learn just as much as have fun. We will visit the heart of the market area of Santiago, starting in la Vega, Tirso de Molina, flower market and fish market. You can choose between a freshly squeezed fruit juice or a speciality coffee, to enjoy while we walk around the lively area. We will continue to the fish market, where we will sample the freshest seafood and pisco sour, a must! if you are not so much into fish, don't worry! We have fantastic places to try local foods with beef, or vegetarian/Vegan. Maybe you are more into walking/ Sampling instead of sitting? We can sample Empanadas, Completo (the best hot dog you will have in your life) cuchuflies and mote con huesillo, all while we enjoy the beauty of Santiago Markets. We will end up walking back to Lastarria Neighborhood, to enjoy the best ice cream in town. or a Café Helado! We loved this tour with Carolina last week. She was a great guide at both the cultural sights and the street food stops. The seafood stop seemed more like a feast! Definitely worth the price of the tour just for that. We actually had to skip the empanada stop as we were so full from the seafood. Carolina made the tour fascinating. She expertly shared her knowledge of all things Chilean. You won’t regret taking this tour.
When Carolina says she does custom tours, she DOES custom tours! Thank you Carolina for a wonderful tour. We not only got to taste some yummy food, but we also saw the highlights of Santiago. We were a group with diverse interests and Carolina was able to accommodate a little something for everyone. Carolina is very knowledgable about Santiago. She was also energetic and funny. Carolina was an excellent tour guide. Not only is she an expert on Chilean foods but also very knowledgeable on the culture and history. Her english language skills are impeccable making it very easy to understand her. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a tour of Santiago.

Carolina’s street food tour was fantastic, but be prepared to bring your appetite as you will be trying many wonderful Santiago specialties. She is a knowledgeable and personable guide that was able to tailor the experience to our groups needs. Highly recommend this tour and Carolina.
