Guide #26553
Hi, my name is Kasia. I have 15 years of guiding experience and I am really lucky because guiding is my work and passion at the same time. Expanding my knowledge, meeting people from all over the world and sharing my love to the place is like amazing journey. I was born, grew up and live in The City of Freedom. It was in Gdansk where in 1980, after 18 days of strike, Solidarity was established, which was the first blow of uncertainty for the communist regimes. My home is a walking distance from the biggest Polish river Vistula. During the morning strolls, on one hand as a passionate photographer and person whose childhood was stunk in the atmosphere of port and shipyard, I take hundreds of pictures of the ships coming to Gdansk. On the other, I can watch seagulls flying over Westerplatte peninsula, a strip of land where on the 1st of September 1939 the Schleswig - Holstein's cannon - shots meant the outbreak of the hell on Earth that the WWII was. My personality traits of Slavic woman, reliability, hospitality, sensitivity and open mindedness which stem from my family background, the heritage of Polish originating from the Lviv area (since 1945 in Ukraine), together with my artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, diversity of my work (I am a licensed tour guide, qualified teacher of English, cooperate with different cultural institutions in Gdansk) and my enthusiasm about the area are the factors making my guiding professional and colourful at the same time. The ancient history of The World Capital of Amber that Gdansk is; the turning point in 1980 when the revolutionary movement was established; the vicinity of the summer resort The Pearl of Baltic Sea - Sopot; the sophisticated example of the 1920-ties and 30-ties modernism architecture city - Gdynia give you the chance to experience an unforgettable, unique visit. Watching the marvelous view from one of the view points and delicious meal in one of local restaurants can be the final touch. If you want to familiarize not only with the landmarks of Tricity - Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia, we can visit off the beaten path places or drive to outside the city destinations. I am a licensed tour guide in the Tricity and Pomeranian District (Voivoidship). The visit to Stutthoff Concentration Camp, Hel Peninsula, Kashuby, kayaking tours and many others can be the part of our meeting as well. I use both public and private transport. My tours are flexible and I am happy to customize. I am very much looking forward to meeting you. - Licensed tour guide in Tri-City (Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia) - Licensed tour guide in Pomerania (Pomorze, Pomeranian Voivodeship) - Licensed tour guide in European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk - Licensed tour guide in Emmigration Museum in Gdynia - Licensed tour guide in Stutthof Concentration Camp Museum - Licensed tour guide in World War II Museum in Gdansk - List of about 90 countries whose nationals may enter Poland without a visa are published on the page of the ministry of foreign affairs www.msz.gov.pl - Bank holidays when the museums are closed https://www.officeholidays.com/countries/poland/index.php

Kasia was prompt, professional, and gave us exactly what we asked for in our tour. She's incredibly knowledgeable about Gdansk and Stutthoff and tailors the tour to suit your interests. We go so much more from this personal tour by a local than we have on many cruise excursions. Depending on your group's size, the price is comparable and you get a lot more for your...

Dear Dionne, thank you very much for so great review. I really apprecciate meeting you. Your scientific knowledge sparked my interest in certain topics even further, leading to in-depth research. Thanks all of you. Greetings for the whole family.
Highly recommend this tour when in Gdansk. The camp was sobering, and the museum was very well done. Also strolled through the old town and sampled some local cuisine. Kasia was an awesome Guide. She worked with us on our time limits and desires with no issues. She even moved the van ahead of us so we could continue with our walking.

Dear Joe, I truly appreciate this wonderful comment. Thank you very much. Conversing, sharing a laugh, and showing the four of you the beauty of Gdańsk was a real pleasure for me. Thank you!
Kasia provided a phenomenal tour of Gdansk and Sopot for our family group of 16. Her knowledge of the city, personalization, friendliness and adaptability were unmatched. Kasia has lived the history of the country and was able to provide us with a unique and emotional tour of the Solidarity museum. We wished that we had double the time to spend with her!

Dear Kara, thank you so much for your review. I'm really grateful that I had the opportunity to share the day with your three - generations family and to watch young people how much interested in the history, especially modern one, they were. Thank you, greetings for all of you.
We had to make some modifications due to traffic. Kasia let us decide what to do when we had to make changes. Despite the challenges of the traffic, we still had a great tour and learned lots about the start of World War II as well as the establishment of prison and then concentration camps in Poland. I wish that we had had more time to explore and learn with Kasia. I...

Dear Angela, thank you so much for the wonderful review. Showing your family around was especially meaningful for me, as I had to find the right words to convey the difficult history of Westerplatte and the Stutthof camp to your teenage children. It was a unique experience; it is not often that young people show such keen interest in history from the past. Thank you once...
