Hi, I’m Kaori Y. M. – Your Local Guide in Japan I’m a Nationally Certified Professional Tour Guide (Cert. No: EN01534) with over 11 years of experience, and the founder of Field Trip+, a licensed travel agency offering customized private tours (Tokyo Registered Travel Agent No. 2-8551). I also run a dance design brand called OTTONAL, and I’m the proud mom of twin boys born in 2018. I’m based in Nagareyama, Chiba—just 20 minutes from Asakusa, Tokyo—and I mainly guide tours in Tokyo, Kamakura, and nearby areas. I'm also a certified Domestic Travel Service Supervisor (Cert. No: 29-49-932), and currently learning American Sign Language (ASL) at a beginner level. I'm passionate about promoting accessible and inclusive tourism in Japan. What I Offer As a professional guide and travel coordinator, I create personalized, memorable experiences for travelers of all ages. My services include: Private car arrangements, Cultural activities such as: Tea ceremony, Sake tasting, Calligraphy, Home cooking classes, Kimono dressing, Washi-paper making, Edo Kiriko Glass cutting, Kintsugi and much more! I especially enjoy guiding families with children and designing fun, engaging tours for them. Being a twin mom myself, I also support families with multiples—I even founded the Greater Tokyo Multiple Births Association in 2021 and work in cooperation with local governments and medical associations as a Representative Director. If you're visiting places outside Tokyo, I can provide local insights and planning support for those destinations as well during we tour. My Approach What I love most about being a guide is connecting through stories—both yours and mine—and introducing you to the real Japan: how we live, what we eat, and what modern life is like here. My tours are not focused on academic or deep historical details—so if that’s what you’re looking for, another guide might be a better fit. But if you’re curious about contemporary Japan and want to experience it in a warm, personal way, I’d be thrilled to guide you. Availability Notice 📌 You can check my availability on my tour pages. Studied at Sophia University (Tokyo) and University of Georgia (USA); did an internship in London. Formerly worked at Panasonic, now running my own company, Pastel Co., Ltd. I can also assist with business meetups and act as an interpreter during your visit. TOEIC score: 935 Trained by the Japan Federation of Certified Guides, and completed the Tourism Management Program at Toyo University and Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
