Guide #66519
I am a tour guide, an author & a stand-up comedian 'Oh Eléonore, if only you were our history teacher!'. If I had a penny for every time I hear this comment, I would be rich! I can't tell you how much I love my job, and when I hear such positive feedback, I know I am doing something right. Before becoming a tour-guide, whenever I used to go and visit historical sites, I would leave in the exact state I had entered with the added frustration of not having understood a thing. It gave me the feeling history just wasn't for me. But how to look at the world we live in today without understanding the past? That is what motivated me to become a tour guide. Now I can grasp all that knowledge and I want to share it with you in the best way possible As a performer, I have created numerous one woman shows and I prepare my guided tours in much the same way. For me, going through a museum or a castle has to be an experience. I want you to leave the monument transformed, in a different emotional state than when you entered it. I use all my talents as a storyteller, stand-up comedian & my love of words to make my guided tours as alive & fun as possible. My tours are very interactive, which makes them perfect for children too! The most important for me is not just that you have fun, is that you learn lots, that it opens horizons in your head and that you remember it. We remember when we are touched so I make sure my tours don't just talk to your head but to your heart too! As an author, I have written one woman shows, children's books, and produced my own radio programme. Words are my primary material. They fascinate me. I truly believe that words are magic and can perform miracles. As a tour guide, my words can turn something ordinary, that you might not have noticed into something you'll suddenly deeply care about. That is what I love the most about my job. We can love everything once we understand it. For a fun tour that talks to your heart in a world that has fallen on its head, contact me! Very much looking forward to hearing from you! We booked Eleonore's tours for both the Louvre and Musee d’Orsay during our stay in Paris, and suffice to say, we were not disappointed! She gave us a thorough and detailed explanation of the history, mythology, and artistic significance of various works in these museums while expertly placing them within the context of the lives of the artists who created them. While she...

My wife and I have visited the Musee D’Orsay many times in the past but this visit was as by far the best. Eleonore is a great storyteller with a vivid style and she brought the pictures to life. In particular she described the origin of the museum and the evolution of the art within it. Some of Eleanore’s stories about individual paintings were absolutely fascinating and...
