Our guide, Julien D., was absolutely fantastic. He was so knowledgeable about the Louve and has a passion for the artwork. I have been to the Louvre on my own, and it was overwhelming. I would highly recommend his guided tour to anyone.

Bonjour! My name is Julien. I'm a Parisian (or maybe I should say a suburban Parisian but don't tell anyone please. . . ) and I love my city. I love how cosmopolitan is Paris and I love its architecture and its museums. To learn about Paris is an endless book. Maybe because there was something about Arts running into my veins already when I was born as (several generations of Architects in my family), I became very interested in Arts from a young age. I could spend hours trying to copy the Mona Lisa. . . Then another passion emerged: learning about other cultures and languages after my first exchange with a Spaniard when I was a teenager. This was the first time I understood how big was the world and how different could be the cultures. This enhanced my interest in learning languages and took me abroad for studies and work experiences in UK, Spain, Mexico. After teaching Spanish for eight years I thought that being a guide would be the most pleasant way to share my two passions, languages and arts with people. And now you can find me at the Louvre, on City Island, Marais or other places, unveiling the stories and secrets of the paintings at the Louvre and monuments of Paris and tasting a piece of cheese or a macaron! So join me on one of my tours and feel free to ask for a customized tour if you have a special interest. I really like to create new tours and tailor tours to people's interests. I'm looking forward to meeting you soon in Paris A bientôt! I've been to many museums and I've loved all of them but I have a special connection to the Louvre. I feel like this is my second house. After so many visits, I still wonder what makes me go to the Louvre even on holidays. Is that because this is the 1st museum I visited when I was a kid even before the glass pyramid existed? Or is it because I still feel so small when I look at how vast it is? Is that because its architecture summarizes 800 years of French history or is it because its collection encapsulates thousands of years of World history from the Egyptian and Assyrians to Napoleon? It's probably a mix of all these reasons but also because I think that whoever you are, wherever you come from, there's always something you can relate to at the Louvre. That's this special connection I feel that I'd like to share with you. Note that the system has changed and the guide needs to get the tickets for the tour in order to skip the line.

This is the best way to experience the Louvre! Our tour with Julien made our Saturday visit to the Louvre so enjoyable. We entered through a side entrance avoiding the crowds and he led us through various sections of this enormous museum. Rather than overwhelming us with hundreds of different works, he focused on some very important ones and helped us understand their significance and appreciate the various artists' styles. . Our group of 5 was thrilled with his approach and all agreed that on our next trip to Paris we would love to do another tour with him. Thank you Julien. We learned also much from you. Barbara Pollock
Having the private tour is absolutely worth it - avoid incredibly long lines, go directly to see specific pieces & gain wonderful insight. Julian in particular was wonderful - his enthusiasm about sharing his knowledge is evident. Highly recommend. Ann & Pat
Julien was wonderful! Merci!
Julien was excellent and we really enjoyed the tour. He is very knowledgeable and engaged with my 11 year old son to keep him interested. Highly recommend Julien for the Louvre Museum
If you are visiting the Louvre you MUST visit with Julien. We loved him so much we booked this 2nd tour with him. He got us straight to the Mona Lisa in no time because he knew exactly how to Maximize our experience. Julien speaks with passion for his subjects. So patient with all of our questions. He picked up on the things we cared about and added to our tour. I can’t describe our experience but to say I’ll never forget my Louvre visit. Julien helped make it memorable. Next time I am in Paris I will tour with Julien again!
This is a perfect tour for a first visit to the Louvre. Depending on what time we start we might go and see the Mona Lisa first if it's an early start (9/9:30am). Otherwise I like to show the medieval part of the Louvre and show the transition from a fort to a Renaissance and Baroque Palace. Works of art included: Venus of Milo, Winged Victory, Coronation of Napoleon, Mona Lisa, Wedding feast of Cana, the Slaves by Michelangelo. This is a suggested itinerary, let me know what you would like to see and do and I will customize the tour accordingly. Note that some works of art might not be on display because of restoration or because some rooms are being refurbished.
