I am a tour guide, an author & a stand-up comedian 'Oh Eléonore, if only you were our history teacher!'. If I had a penny for every time I hear this comment, I would be rich! I can't tell you how much I love my job, and when I hear such positive feedback, I know I am doing something right. Before becoming a tour-guide, whenever I used to go and visit historical sites, I would leave in the exact state I had entered with the added frustration of not having understood a thing. It gave me the feeling history just wasn't for me. But how to look at the world we live in today without understanding the past? That is what motivated me to become a tour guide. Now I can grasp all that knowledge and I want to share it with you in the best way possible As a performer, I have created numerous one woman shows and I prepare my guided tours in much the same way. For me, going through a museum or a castle has to be an experience. I want you to leave the monument transformed, in a different emotional state than when you entered it. I use all my talents as a storyteller, stand-up comedian & my love of words to make my guided tours as alive & fun as possible. My tours are very interactive, which makes them perfect for children too! The most important for me is not just that you have fun, is that you learn lots, that it opens horizons in your head and that you remember it. We remember when we are touched so I make sure my tours don't just talk to your head but to your heart too! As an author, I have written one woman shows, children's books, and produced my own radio programme. Words are my primary material. They fascinate me. I truly believe that words are magic and can perform miracles. As a tour guide, my words can turn something ordinary, that you might not have noticed into something you'll suddenly deeply care about. That is what I love the most about my job. We can love everything once we understand it. For a fun tour that talks to your heart in a world that has fallen on its head, contact me! Very much looking forward to hearing from you! We will meet on Ile de la Cité, which is the center of Paris and also where it all began! I will first bring you to the Conciergerie, a stunning monument from the Middle Age, where everything started, where french kings settled their power, before it became a famous prison during the French Révolution, where Marie-Antoinette was emprisonned. Then I will bring you to the Sainte Chapelle, or should I say, the most magical monument in the world with its 700 square meters of stained glass window! Finally, I will give you an introduction to Notre Dame, which is only 500 meters from Sainte Chapelle. I will let you go inside on your own but I will tell you everything you need to know in front of the Cathedral, so you can then enjoy it at your own pace afterwards
We will meet in front of the Conciergerie. After 1h30 hearing all about why Paris is called Paris, why the French are called like that, what they ate in the middle ages, discovering the famous prison where Marie-Antoinette was emprisonned, we will walk 5 min and get into the Sainte Chapelle. It is a tiny building so very little walking inside. You'll hear all about the king who made this crazy building and understand everything about gothic architecture. Then we will have lunch in a very nice creperie close by Notre Dame Finally, we will walk for 5min and we will be in front of Notre Dame. I will tell you everything you need to know in front of the Cathedral before letting you enjoy it on your own and at your own pace.
