I am a tour guide, an author & a stand-up comedian 'Oh Eléonore, if only you were our history teacher!'. If I had a penny for every time I hear this comment, I would be rich! I can't tell you how much I love my job, and when I hear such positive feedback, I know I am doing something right. Before becoming a tour-guide, whenever I used to go and visit historical sites, I would leave in the exact state I had entered with the added frustration of not having understood a thing. It gave me the feeling history just wasn't for me. But how to look at the world we live in today without understanding the past? That is what motivated me to become a tour guide. Now I can grasp all that knowledge and I want to share it with you in the best way possible As a performer, I have created numerous one woman shows and I prepare my guided tours in much the same way. For me, going through a museum or a castle has to be an experience. I want you to leave the monument transformed, in a different emotional state than when you entered it. I use all my talents as a storyteller, stand-up comedian & my love of words to make my guided tours as alive & fun as possible. My tours are very interactive, which makes them perfect for children too! The most important for me is not just that you have fun, is that you learn lots, that it opens horizons in your head and that you remember it. We remember when we are touched so I make sure my tours don't just talk to your head but to your heart too! As an author, I have written one woman shows, children's books, and produced my own radio programme. Words are my primary material. They fascinate me. I truly believe that words are magic and can perform miracles. As a tour guide, my words can turn something ordinary, that you might not have noticed into something you'll suddenly deeply care about. That is what I love the most about my job. We can love everything once we understand it. For a fun tour that talks to your heart in a world that has fallen on its head, contact me! Very much looking forward to hearing from you! 'I love the impressionists even more now, after our tour with you'. This is just one of the nice comments travellers of mine have written about their experience with me in the Orsay Museum! In just 2 hours I will introduce you to the most well known impressionist painters: we'll have lunch on the grass with Manet, admire Gare St Lazare with Monet, dance in a Parisian Guinguette with Renoir and take a nap in a sunny straw field with Van Gogh. I will also let you know why it took so long for the impressionists to be accepted and how we moved from classical art to modern art. My tours more like an experiences. All I want is you to have a good time while learning lots of interesting facts. The energy I bring, add even more light to those impressionist's paintings. This tour is very sunny for the eyes and the heart!
NOTE: The earlier in advance that you book this tour, the more likely it is to secure tickets to the museum. ·Once we've gathered, we'll step into the museum for our exploration. ·Firstly, we will journey back to a time period that really allows for the understanding of classical art. ·We'll then go and see the first painters who disrupted the Beaux Arts Academy. ·Afterwards, we will come across the impressionists (Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, Berthe Morisot, etc) ·And last but not least, we will see the iconic Starry Night and other amazing paintings by Van Gogh. I will then make sure you understand how come there is so much light coming from his paintings. Please feel free to contact me if you have any specific requests and I'll be happy to customize the tour to your preferences. Once you booked the Orsay tour with me, tell me how many are in your group and if there is anyone under 18, I will then by the tickets to the museum for you.
