Bonjour, and welcome to France! My name is Olesya, and I am a professional, licensed guide. I first came to Paris twenty years ago to study at Sorbonne University, and from there, I gave a piece of my heart to this magical city. My love for Paris is ever-growing, and I would be more than happy to share it with you! After graduating from Sorbonne University, where I studied English philology and literature, I worked as a professional translator for numerous Parisian and international translation agencies. Striving to be more in touch with other people and deepen my knowledge in history of art, I pursued my studies at the National Guides' School in Paris and the Ecole du Louvre to become a professional guide. Now, fully licensed, I am delighted to introduce you to the magic of Paris and its rich, fascinating history and outstanding architecture. Paris is truly where history is so alive that you can literally touch it. With me as your guide, you will discover Paris and gain a bucket-load of knowledge. But don't worry! There are no classes, homework, or tons of research to do here. Simply allow me to lead you through the streets of Paris - in a relaxing, easygoing, and enjoyable way! The great part is that anyone can benefit from my tours, and they are 100% family-friendly. All tours can also be tailored according to your needs and desires. What's more is that being a fully licensed guide gives me a little (huge!) advantage to skip all the crowds and queues in most of the museums and monuments! My biggest enjoyment on tours is to "crack the codes" of museum masterpieces. I connect with people individually, giving them the keys to better appreciate artworks and monuments, translating them into a language you can understand. I love seeing faces brighten with new knowledge! I mostly enjoy surprising people - and I like to be surprised myself. Paris is the perfect location for this! Are you ready to journey on your thrilling French adventure? - French Government License that enables me to guide you through all museums and monuments with priority access - no queuing here! - Degree in History of Art obtained at the School of the Louvre (École du Louvre) - Master's degree in French and English linguistics, philology, and literature.

If you want to explore the trendiest area of Paris, home to aristocratic mansions, art galleries, perfumeries, Jewish quarter, fashion boutiques and great gastronomy, my historical and gastronomic walk along the streets of Marais is for you! During this walk you won't only taste to the most delicious pastries and macarons, you will also discover what Marais is hiding. You will see the opulent mansions, parks and squares and hear about the rise and fall of the Knights Templar, the amazing adventures of Marie Antoinette's necklace and the extraordinary entertainment of the royal court. I will guide you along the paths unknown to tourists and tell you about the history of the quarter and its modern life. Weaving through labyrinths of picturesque streets and penetrating behind the scenes of the front facades of mansions, we will revive the events that forever changed the course of French history!
We'll start at the Metro Temple to understand the mysterious history of the Knights Templar settled in Marais in the Middle Ages. We'll walk narrow paved streets, enjoy renowned chocolate and macarons and talk about French food. We'll visit a secret French Market and taste some cheese and wine (Upon request). All the while you'll discover mansion after mansion, former homes to the nobility that once called the Marais home! We'll move forward in time to learn all about the bustling Jewish community. Then, we'll continue experiencing the royal history of the Marais by exploring the magnificent Place des Vosges, a public square with unparalleled beauty in Paris. We'll walk through a hidden courtyard of the majestic Hotel de Sully and finish in Saint-Paul area. I do not offer this tour on Mondays, as many shops are closed. However, if you don’t mind skipping the food portion and still wish to take the tour on a Monday, please let me know.
