Full day in Versailles: palace / garden / queen's hamlet

He was great, very knowledgeable and made the trip much more interesting. I highly recommend using a guide at Versailles. We would have missed most of it without a guide. He was great.

We have visited Versailles twice previously on our own. Our daughter’s family with our two young grandsons travelled with us and we wanted to avoid the crowds and hassle. Romain’s tour provided a wonderful experience as he picked us up at our accommodation, gave knowledgeable commentary in the palace, gardens, and hamlet. He was very considerate in selecting shaded areas when we were walking outside the palace as the temperature was extremely hot. I highly recommend this tour!

*A Rainy Day at Versailles Turned Into a Trip Highlight** We were lucky enough to have Romain as our guide again—this time at the Palace of Versailles—and somehow he managed to make a cold, windy, rainy day one of the most memorable experiences of our entire trip. Leading four exhausted women (two fifty-year-olds and two twenty-year-olds) through one of the largest and most visited sites in France is no small feat, but Romain made it look effortless. His enthusiasm never wavered, his knowledge was remarkable, and his storytelling brought the palace, gardens, and history of Versailles to life. What could have been a long, wet day of simply walking through beautiful rooms became an engaging journey through French history. Romain has a gift for making historical figures feel like real people and for connecting the grand scale of Versailles to the human stories behind it. Just as importantly, he knew how to pace the tour, keeping us engaged, entertained, and moving—even when the weather was doing its best to convince us otherwise. By the end of the day, we weren't talking about the rain. We were talking about everything we had learned. If you're planning a visit to Versailles, we cannot recommend Romain highly enough. His knowledge, flexibility, humor, and genuine passion for French history transformed what could have been a challenging day into an unforgettable one. Our tour guide Romain was great. His knowledge and interest was superior. His English was easy to understand and his driving was very good.

Our trip to Versailles with Roman was a perfect day. We highly recommend him as a guide. We only used him for this tour but wished we had used him for the other Paris tours we book ahead of the trip.. He picked us up at 9:00 AM at our hotel and drive there was flawless. His knowledge of the palace, the grounds and Marie Antoinettes estate was so informative. He was able to navigate us through the lines quickly (even though the first Sunday of the month is free access) at both properties. We learned so much more having Roman as our guide than we would have known without him. We timed it perfectly to grab lunch across the street @ Le Petit Bouillon - great local spot with a reasonable priced menu. Food was delicious.

Romain was extremely knowledgeable, an especially clear communicator in English (with barely any accent), friendly, accommodating, and punctual.
