I am a tour guide, an author & a stand-up comedian 'Oh Eléonore, if only you were our history teacher!'. If I had a penny for every time I hear this comment, I would be rich! I can't tell you how much I love my job, and when I hear such positive feedback, I know I am doing something right. Before becoming a tour-guide, whenever I used to go and visit historical sites, I would leave in the exact state I had entered with the added frustration of not having understood a thing. It gave me the feeling history just wasn't for me. But how to look at the world we live in today without understanding the past? That is what motivated me to become a tour guide. Now I can grasp all that knowledge and I want to share it with you in the best way possible As a performer, I have created numerous one woman shows and I prepare my guided tours in much the same way. For me, going through a museum or a castle has to be an experience. I want you to leave the monument transformed, in a different emotional state than when you entered it. I use all my talents as a storyteller, stand-up comedian & my love of words to make my guided tours as alive & fun as possible. My tours are very interactive, which makes them perfect for children too! The most important for me is not just that you have fun, is that you learn lots, that it opens horizons in your head and that you remember it. We remember when we are touched so I make sure my tours don't just talk to your head but to your heart too! As an author, I have written one woman shows, children's books, and produced my own radio programme. Words are my primary material. They fascinate me. I truly believe that words are magic and can perform miracles. As a tour guide, my words can turn something ordinary, that you might not have noticed into something you'll suddenly deeply care about. We went on 5 tours with Eleonore and our full day tour of Versailles was our favorite! We thoroughly enjoyed Marie Antoinette's home and gardens, as well as the tour of the palace. The grounds are large with a lot of walking. Eleonore told us stories of Louis the XIVth and Marie Antoinette as we walked which added so much to the experience. Definitely book with Eleonore if you want to experience Versailles!
An amazing experience! Elenore arranged a car to pick us up directly from our hotel. She then guided us on a 6 hour adventure through the buidings and gardens of Versailles. She was passionate about Marie Antoinette and is an expert on all aspect of her life. You will not find a more entertaining guide. This was the best tour in our entire trip!
The tour was arranged perfectly and our transport to Versailles started the day perfectly. We met Eleonore and were immediately transported. in time She is a pleasure. Her knowledge of life at Versailles went beyond the common history, architecture and facades. She immersed us in the period historical events, aristocracy and how Parisians lives were leading up to the French Revolution. She animated the daily lives of Louis XIV and Marie Antoinette's private lives in a way I could not have imagined... and their court. Then she took us into a very deep and personal look into the life of Marie Antoinette. Her early childhood in Austria, how she was a child needing love who was isolated and striving solitude from the French Court. This is a fantastic experience. We will recommend 100%.
If you want to really experience Versailles you must see it with Eléonore! Her knowledge and enthusiasm for Versailles is infectious and really makes it come alive. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Eléonore and cannot imagine having a better experience at this beautiful, monumental, and historically important site. Her communication was always timely from the first time we reached out to her back in January. In our opinion if you really want to see Versailles and appreciate both its history and beauty you should see it with Eléonore. The shear size and scope of the building and grounds just doesn't come through in photographs, so be sure you have comfortable shoes!
We had just over 20 tours in the space of 5 weeks in Europe, and Eleonore was by far the best one we had the entire time. She engaged not only all of the adults (3 of us), but all 3 of our children as well the entire tour. She was extremely patient with them, answered all of their questions, and made the entire tour hilarious and fun for everyone. I would not hesitate to ever book her again and highly recommend her for anyone, especially for families.
Eleanor was a fantastic Tour Guide, she led a very thought out and informative tour for our family of five despite the fact that it was a very hot day, and that Versailles was very overcrowded. The information was presented in an interesting and inspiring manner.

At the end of the day, the chauffeur will drop you back at your hotel.
