We had a wonderful time visiting Versailles with Pierre! Because of the crazy heat wave, there was a power outage at the parking structure where Pierre keeps his van and so he was unable to access his own transportation for us. Despite the rough start, Pierre managed to meet us at our hotel on time and organized several cabs to get us to our destination in time for our timed entry for our tickets so that we wouldn't have to cancel. He immediately reimbursed us for the additional cab fees, as well. We very much appreciated his quick problem solving and open communication throughout. We had a 67 year old in a wheelchair and a 6 year old in our group and he made sure everything moved as smoothly and quickly as possible in a way that was accessible to all of us. He got my mom a wheelchair while in the palace and even wheeled her around while giving us the tour. He also agreed to drive us around the grounds in a golf cart when my mom asked (we paid for the golf cart since it was an add-on), to make the gardens more accessible for her since her own wheelchair wasn't able to traverse the gravel paths easily (they don't allow you to use the Versailles provided wheelchairs outside the palace building), even though this wasn't an original part of the plan. He was very kind and patient, and was great at answering our daughter's questions and engaging her in the tour (which otherwise could have been boring for a 6 year old unfamiliar with history). He even shared a bit about a game he plays with his own children, "Space Invaders", and pointed out multiple examples of these tile-mosaic aliens on sides of buildings on our way to and from Versailles. We had a lot of fun spotting them around Paris for the remainder of our visit that week. Pierre also provided us with additional information about the area in which we were staying and made some helpful and lovely restaurant recommendations. We would highly recommend him!
