Best Selling Tour of 2013-2016!
Experience Dubrovnik through the best selling tour - the Game of Thrones Tour!
Ever since Season 2 of the HBO TV-series 'Game of Thrones' aired in 2012, I have been met with a fair share of requests in which the clients wanted to see the places where the crew filmed and were recognizable from the series.
Being a huge fan of the series (and the book) myself, I have decided to create a specialized tour which would cover the sites in the Old Town of Dubrovnik (and its surroundings) that were used for the scenes in this celebrated HBO TV-series. Apart from the King's Landing, you will also be able to recognize some other locations from the series, such as the magical town of Qarth.
Although few similar tours are now offered by other guides, the many positive reviews of true GoT fans that had the chance to take this tour prove that the Dubrovnik Game of Thrones Tour has become my personal trademark.
Find out why!
During the tour you will be able to see locations which were used as the settings in the Seasons 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 of The Game of Thrones.
- Joffrey's name day tourney
- Power is Power Vs Knowledge is Power 'debate'
- The Gold Cloakes slaying late King Robert's bastards
- Myrcella leaves for Dorne
- Joffrey starts a riot at King's Landing
- Daenerys visits the Spice King's mansion in Qarth
- Sansa saved from rape by the Hound
- Varys, Tyrion and Joffrey inspecting the defenses before Stannis' attack
- Daenerys arrives to the House of Undying
- Tyrion, Bronn and Podrick meet after the battle of Blackwater
- Jaime's return to King's Landing
- Joffrey's wedding AKA Purple wedding
- Oberyn meets with Tyrion at Littlefinger's brothel
- The Mountain practicing for the trial by combat
- Cersei pays last respects to Tywin
- Cersei meets the High Sparrow
- Tommen gets intercepted by sparrows at the staircase to the Grand Sept of Baelor
- Walk of shame
. . . and many, many other iconic GOT locations!
Meeting Location + Tour Duration
Meeting location: Meeting location is usually at the drawbridge at Pile Gate (western entrance to Old Town of Dubrovnik).
End location: Old Town of Dubrovnik
Duration: 2 hours 30 min.
All the mentioned locations are in the pedestrian zone so this would be a walking tour.
The tour would approximately last 2.5 hours and would include the walking tour around the locations within and around the Old Town of Dubrovnik (conducted by a licensed tourist guide and a great fan of the 'Game of Thrones' TV series).
Within this period we would need to visit the fortress of St. Lawrence, which is the major filming point that poses as the interior of the Red Keep in the TV show.
IMPORTANT: Please note that the rate quoted is a GROUP PRICE for a PRIVATE TOUR. The price is valid for GROUPS up to max. 6 persons. Once you book the tour, you book the time slot and it is up to you to find other companions. This is actually what some of my clients do, they book the tour and then try to find the other GoT enthusiasts to join so they can split the cost.
Estimated Local Cash Needed
50 HRK - Admission fee per person for the Fortress of St. Lawrence
The entrance tickets, transport, meals and drinks are not included in the price.
Although some of the scenes from Qarth were filmed in Dubrovnik, the actual setting for 'greatest city there was and will be' is the exotic island of Lokrum, which can easily be visited by a regular line departing from the Old Town. Apart from Lokrum the extended tour can include the visit to Trsteno Arboretum (about 30-minute drive from Dubrovnik) which was also used as one of the settings from the show in Seasons 3&4. This former 15th-century aristocratic estate is best known from the iconic scenes that involve the house Tyrell.
The extended tour would last between 4 and 5 hours and the price would depend on whether you wish to venture 'across the Narrow Sea' to Lokrum or visit the 'Tyrell garden' (Trsteno Arboretum).
The price of the extended tour would be somewhat higher so feel free to contact me for further explanations and information about the additional costs.

Tom was just fantastic. He knew everything about everything, not just the Game of Thrones. It was a kick to see the various GOT sites but also to learn the history of Dubrovnik. Tom couldn't have been better! Bravo!
