Warm welcome to my country and city, My name is Patricia. I have been a professional licensed tour guide in the UK for more than 24 years now and holder of the prestigious Blue Badge. I also have an MA in Japanese history and Japanese language. I am fully insured and licensed to guide in most official historic sites in the UK including inside of Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, Windsor Castle, Parliament and a number of museums in London. I do tours by tourist van, car, taxi or/and on foot. I have a passion for British history and can also show you the less known hidden gems of London, the city I have lived in more than half of my life. I can make a bespoke tour, tailor-made to your personal interest and time and feel confident that I can help you create unforgettable memories on your trip. Just drop me a line and we can work together to create your perfect trip! Apart from English, I also am fluent in Spanish, French, Dutch and Japanese, all languages I use regularly as a tour guide and interpreter. My interests are broad and range from royal history to architecture, art history, theatre to film locations and I have recently also specialised in visits to England's most beautiful gardens. . . In the past, I have lived in a number of other countries including Belgium, Spain and Japan. Travelling as a family with kids? Very welcome as I also have extensive experience in working with educational tours for children and run my own company in educational tours to Britain; I can adapt my tours especially for families with young children or teenagers with something of interest for both, adults and kids. I offer a wide range of themed walking tours in London on the following topics and am always happy to study more topics. - Royal and aristocratic London - Architecture in London from Tudor (16C) to postmodern - Imperial Britain and the Docklands - Dark and gruesome history of London - Street art in trendy Shoreditch - Harry Potter film locations - Along the river Thames - British theatre from Shakespeare to the Covent Garden. - Rock & Roll music in Soho - Historic walk from the Royal Borough of Chelsea and Kensington to Notting Hill. - A guided visit of the world-renowned Royal Botanical Gardens of Kew - London during World War I and World War II ( with an optional visit to Cabinet War Rooms) - Ecological London with a visit to a Container City in East London - The city of London from Roman settlement to the financial powerhouse of the world. - Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew highlights of the worlds greatest botanic gardens . . . . . I also lecture for a number of societies in Britain on history. I look forward to welcoming you! Warm regards, Patricia - Institute of Tourist Guiding accredited London Blue Badge Guide - Member of the Association of Professional Tour Guides - Accredited to guide inside Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, the Tower of London, Windsor Castle, British Museum, National Gallery, Hampton Court Palace - Special accreditation for London 2012 Olympic venues and the Houses of Parliament I am not a driver guide but can organise a chauffeured car to take us around at leisure. Excellent tour. Without major homework prior to our visit we would have missed many of the details and stories.

Patricia was a wonderful guide. We took a tour of Kew Gardens. She was extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. We had a party of four, including our daughter and niece. Our niece is studying plant biology in the States and wanted to see the gardens. Our time with Patricia was superb, she kept everyone's interest and offered many different options for us to consider. There was so much to see and she had so many stories that tied it all together. She expertly curated our experience.

Your London tour itinerary

Make your own way from central London to Kew Gardens Station, 30min by underground or 40 min by taxi. Your guide will wait for you at the Kew Gardens Station exit if you travel by underground or at the Victoria Gate entrance to Kew Gardens on Kew Road if you come by taxi. We will visit the Garden's most important sites including some Victorian greenhouses ( the Palm House, Temperate House, and Water Lilly House), the English Garden, an exhibition of botanical paintings by the 19th botanical art pioneer Marianne North, see Kew Palace and more much more. I will tell you fascinating facts and anecdotes about the garden's interesting history. This tour can be adapted to your specific field of interest and for children. There are plenty of interesting things to discover such as the Beehive and the Treetop walkway. After the visit, you may want to decide to stay and have lunch or enjoy afternoon tea in one of the restaurants in the gardens or browse in the gift store before making your way back to your hotel.
